Its odd how you all pick the biggest stadiums as the best. Most of you are just listing the worlds biggest stadiums.

My favourite is the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig.

For me I would say that there is a big difference between "Most beatiful stadium" and "Favorite stadium". When considering the most beatiful stadium I think aesthetically, but my favorite stadium is the one I would want to watch a football match at. If I were two make seperate lists, they would come out completely different.

For example I think Estádio do Dragão is the most beatiful stadium in the world, but I would much rather want to go to a match in Signal Iduna Park (which must be said is not excactly pretty).

I agree with that, but then you cant really call Signal Iduna Park your favourite stadium to watch football at unless you've seen a match there. My favourite stadium to watch football at is probably Kingfield on a good day, I would rather watch a match at Signal Iduna Park but ive never been there so I cant call it my favourite.

My favourite football stadiums

Old school:

1. De Kujp, Rotterdam
2. Mineirao (the inside is modern now, though)
3. Stade Gerlande, Lyon
4. Westfallen Stadion, Dortmund
5. Villa Park, Birmingham
6. La Beaujoire, Nantes
7. Parc des Princes, Paris
8. Nou Camp, Barcelona
9. Stade de la Mosson, Montpellier
10. Mestalla, Valencia

Modern school ones:

1. Estadio da Luz, Lisbon (the most iconic and most influential modern design)
2. Municipal Stadium, Wroclaw (I love a new stadium that looks perfectly "old-school")
3. National Stadium, Warsaw
4. Gdansk Arena
5. Stade de France
6. Donbass Arena, Donetsk
7. Allianz Arena, Munich (best modern exteriour ever, worst interiour in this list by far)
8. Estadio de Bessa, Porto (Boavista) (same as for Wroclaw)
9. Stade Oceane, Le Havre (fighting for my favourite small French stadium with the Auguste Delaune in Reims)
10. Arena Nationala, Bucharest (my favourite ever seating colour pattern)

I suspect some of the stadium currently being built and redeveloped will probably enter my top 10 when finished, especially the new National Stadium in Brasilia and the Velodrome in Marseille.

Favourite olympic / athletics stadiums:

1. Panathinaiko, Athens
2. San Nicola, Bari
3. Olympiastadion, Berlin
4. Olympiastadion, Munich
5. National Stadium, Kyiv
6. Olympic Stadium, Athens (OAKA)
7. Olympic Stadium, London
8. Ullevi, Gothenburg
9. Olympic Stadium, Stockholm
10. Cluj Arena

My favourite and in my opinion the most beautiful stadium has to be Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.

If you're referring to my lists, you should have noticed I mentioned (and emphasized) that those are my favourite stadiums, not what I think is objectively accomplished and beautiful. As you know, tastes are subjective: de gustibus non est disputandum.

^ Matze2011 also needs to be respected, according to the forum rules. Stop telling people to "get lost" and such.

Also, someone asked what are our favourite stadiums. So if the mods moved the discussion in this thread then you should understand, I hope, that such a discussion is appropriate here.

My personal top ten, going with all NFL Stadiums are as follows:

10. Arrowhead stadium - Kansas City, Missouri - A classic masterpiece and one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL.
9. Mercedes Benz Superdome - New Orleans, Louisiana - One of the early domed and an electric atmosphere each and every single time.
8. Lambeau Field - Green Bay Wisconsin - History and modern amenities in one.
7. Mile High Stadium - Denver, Colorado - An intimidating prescence with huge grandstands.
6. Reliant Stadium - Houston, Texas - The jewel in Texas sports stadiums until Cowboys Stadium stole it's thunder.
5. Lucas Oil Stadium - Indianapolis, Indiana - An updated version of Reliant Stadium and quite simply the house that Peyton built.
4. Metlife Stadium - Meadowlands, New Jersey - Would rate significantly higher had they decided to put a dame roof over the thing.
3. Century Link Field - Seattle, Washington - Breathtaking view of downtown Seattle and awesome design with the door to the city.
2. University of Phoenix Stadium - Glendale, Arizona - The toaster in the middle of the desert, one of the best stadiums of the modern era.
1. Cowboys Stadium - Arlington, Texas - Need i say more quite simply the number ONE sporting facility in the world.

Really? I see a lopsided stadium with a tacky exterior and a hideous, disjointed roof.
