Berlin - a timeless classic, and one of the best stadiums in the world. The understated elegance of this masterpiece just radiates class! A stadium for the refined Gentlemen of the world.

The stadium has posts holding the roof up and it's situated in possibly Europe's bleakest and most depressing city. Other than that, it's perfect to host a WC final.

The reason for the posts has been explained numerous times. It was unavoidable (still a slight let down though). Berlin is a superb city, absolutely superb!!

Have you been to Manchester lately? Or Middlesbrough? Now they are real shit cities!! Most of London is also a crime ridden hell hole!

I don't think Middlesbrough's a city. Manchester is arguably Britain's greatest city. I take it you've never been to Berlin.

I have been to Berlin, and I am going again in October. I love the place. Not as good as Munich though.

Manchester??? City of chavs, lager louts, crime and loud mouthed obnoxious 'youth culture'. No thanks, not for me! Probably the last place in Britain I would want to live. I will stick to my beautiful Glens, lochs, rivers and mountains.

In fact, here is a photo I took this yesterday whilst out on my almost daily cycles -

Should I swap that for the shopping trolley lined canals of Manchester? I don't think so!!

Depends what actual model of bike. Some are good, some are bad with all makes. Personally I think my Specialized is too heavy and I will be getting a new hardtail soon. Full suspension is too slow and soft for me, it takes the fun out of the cycling!

You have got to be kidding? This is a dump. A poor mans Hampden if ever there was one! But thanks for the pics.
At least now I know to take these with me for the World Cup.

I am seriously tempted to say the new version of the Lansdowne Road redevelopment;

but the travesty that is the North End ruins the whole thing. I mean, just look at how awfully lopsided the whole thing looks as a result...

So, given that, I probably gotta choose Rungnado May Day Stadium in Pyongyang from an external point of view (sadly, the interior is pretty dire);

and, the new Liverpool F.C. ground from an interior P.O.V.;

In terms of pur character, and the atmosphere when Ireland are beating England in the rugby, Lansdowne Road, in its current form will always be special. Yeah, it's old, decrepid and about to be knocked down, but who cares? It's a wonderful place;

besides the fact it has a running track its awesome, I love this stadium, but best in the world???????? i dont think so, MCG is better than this, but still is an awesome stadium. Just out of interest they did put a new roof on this place, why did they still have to use pole supports? couldnt the structural engineers do a better job & design better supports for the roof?

Most of the world would disagree with you.

Soccer = worlds most popular sport

Rugby = also one of the most popular

NFL is just a weak mans rugby. They once were the same game, but the weaklings in America threatened to ban it because it was considered too dangerous, the solution: rule modifications, the product: crappy american 'football'.

NFL = shit, thats kind of why it's only played in America. nfl euro is a small sideshow that would fail in a second if the NFL support was taken away, it is an insignificant league.
