Penn State University's Beaver Stadium in Happy Valley, PA

Name the most beautiful sports stadium in the entire world.
Pictures would be a definite plus.

in terms of history, wouldn't it have to be the Colliseum (no, not the one crosstown from Pasadena from where the Trojans make their trip today...I'm talking about the Roman version)

Did any of you catch the Spaghetti Bowl played there last night?:

Lions 35 Christians 27 (Detroit's most impressive win this season)

I must admit I liked the Colliseum more when it was called the Colliseum instead of its present name: DeMarco Olive Oil & Anchovey Stadium

Then this thread should maybe be moved to the proper subforum? If it is college stadiums fine stay in the NA skybar. If you want world go to the Stadium/Arena forum, where the Europeans will tell you a few things.

Nothing wrong with Beaver Stadium, but it would be hard to put one of the "erector set" stadiums among the most beautiful. The stadium seems to have grown without plan, being constantly expanded. The model today (i.e. Ohio Stadium, Memorial in Austin, Notre Dame Stadium, Michigan Stadium's planned expansion) is for more of a complete look, more symmetrical, more unified than you see in places like Beaver Stadium.

I have absolutely no idea why, because it's not particularly beautiful and it's not that huge, but I really like the Rhein Energy Stadium in Cologne.

I saw a couple of games there during the World Cup and the atmosphere was fantastic, plus the rake of the seats seemed like the steepest I'd ever been on.

All for very different reasons. Some for atmosphere, some because I support the teams that play there and, for others, the pure aesthetics of it all.

Ravenhill Park - Belfast - Ulster Rugby

Ibrox Park - Glasgow - Glasgow Rangers F.C.

Estadio Santiago Bernabeu - Madrid - Real Madrid F.C.

Murrayfield - Edinburgh - Scottish Rugby Union

Stade Louis II - Monaco - Association Sportive Monaco FC

KC Stadium - Hull - Hull City F.C. / Hull F.C.

Croke Park - Dublin - GAA

The Oval - Belfast - Glentoran F.C.

Olympic Stadium - Berlin - Hertha BSC

Reliant Stadium - Houston - Houston Texans

Estádio Jornalista Mário Filho (Estádio do Maracană) - Rio De Janiero
