Top 10 in terms of what? Size? Looks? Capacity? Innovation? Uniqueness? History?

This thread is so broad in scope.

That's what I gathered from it. I just picked 10 that have made a big impression on me. It's more interesting this way. If it was based on something quantifiable, we could all just look it up in an almanac.

Top 10 stadiums everything put together. I think that's what the thread starter meant and maybe almost everyone here would think so.

I would be reluctant to choose Olympic style stadiums because in practice they often end up being either sub standard football stadiums or complete white elephants.

if i wanted an object that could light up in ten colours id just buy one. a world class stadium doesnt need a "pop" statement to stand out.

It's ok for baseball, but awful for football. The Argonauts deserve a better stadium.

I liked this thread!

Well, it's quite hard to compare... there are heaps of great stadia around the world - and loads and loads of projects.
But my list would be:

1. Allianz Arena - Munich, Germany

2. Nou Mestalla - Valencia, Spain

3. Beijing National Stadium - Beijing, China

4. Olympic Stadium - Athens, Greece

5. Sapporo Dome - Sapporo, Japan

6. Wembley Stadium - London, UK

7. Stade de France - Paris, France

8. Olympiastadion - Munich, Germany

9. Olympic Stadium - Montreal, Canada

10. Estadio do Dragão - Porto, Portugal

Well, the order varies according to criteria... so...

Allianz Arena looks like an air-cushioned bedpan from the outside. It does not top the list for me.

In person in looks almost exactly like a 700 ft long matress during the day. Its pretty cool when they light it up, but the rest of the time it could not be much more boring.
Aesthetically I think it's a big step down from the Olympiastadion, but that might be my favorite from a purely aesthetic standpoint
