They had a World Cup qualifier there last year and only got a crowd in the 30.000s. For a 'friendly' in Melbourne they got over 70,000.

Honestly do not know why the FFA bothers playing international matches outside of Melbourne. They are losing money.
Which World Cup Qualifier? The 49 thousand they drew for Iraq when just 24 hours before Iraq were banned by FIFA, or the 33000 they drew for a fixture against Qatar in sopping wet conditions that forced the match to be delayed for an hour and a half? Please, elaborate.

on of the most beautiful and weirdest stadiums in the world

Kantrida stadion, Rijeka, Croatia

this stadium is built on place of closed quarry, and there is rock on one (east side) and Adriatic Sea on other (west side). It is unique in the world, and on biggest matches fans climbed on those rocks to watch games as capacity is only about 12.000 seats. Record of stadium was set in 1999, when Rijeka played decisive match for championship title against Osijek. There was cca 26.000 fans.

Would it kill you to browse few pages back and look for Kantrida instead of reposting the same stuff for 10th time?

Size of the second picture is just awesome... do you have bigger one?

No wander you got brigged

To be fair, the search function of SSC does not work, and you cant be expected to read through all the threads every time.

Very interesting setting, reminds me of a stadium in Portugal, but it does not have a sea on one side.

I can imagine it being posted, and it is not a stadium but an arena, I hope it is OK to post it despite this.

The Globe Arena Stockholm:

In the future, it will have a new stadium beside it.

Well i've noticed that he re-posted many things on various discussions all over SSC. So i kinda think that it would be good to mention it (to look few pages back) to him considering that he is new to this forum.

I have not been there, so I cannot give my opinion on the acoustics. But from what I have heard there are mixed impressions, it has been described as peculiar, even. It is pretty well known for being far from an optimal icehockey arena also, which is a bit of a shame given Sweden's status in the icehockey world.

You can inspect technical details about the acoustics here:

http://www.tunemalm.se/globen.htm

In either case, it is a modern masterpiece exterior wise.

Interior photo:

Another problem has been that the dimensions for games cannot be changed easily, apparently it has not been prepared for that. When two NHL games were played there last year, they played with European dimensions. Whereas Scandinavium in Göteborg is technicly prepared to be able to change dimensions, including the height of the glass etc.

Another exterior photo:

i guess weird doesnt mean beauty...

here in Mexico there is a stadium which is similar to that stadium. But, in from there was no rock, there was a mount... and in the other side, there was a river--- thats was bizarre

The desing of Stadium Australia looks little bit with the Olympic Athens Stadium (OAKA). See pic below:

They don't really look like at all, I would just say that oaka is one of the most minimalistic and elegant in the world.

Its a very old and out-dated stadium, but it has a lot of historic value, and its a beautiful.
Its the home of Racing Club, one of the FIFA 27 classic clubs. Players like Pele and Maradona have stepped on the grass of the stadium. Actually, Maradona was Racing club´s dt.

Pics of the stadium . . .

The Best Stadiums of Scandinavia

There´s quit lot going on with stadiums in scandinavia at the moment, with Staebeks new and cool telenor (roof)arena and Malmo FF:s tight 2:tier Swedbank Stadium.
In these times of change I thought it would be interesting to rank the best, both of current and under construction,

Here is the best stadiums according to me:

1: Parken Stadium, (Denmark)
34,098 for football games, pure continental feeling and a general nice english look to it. The rebuilding of one short side to boxes however is a major minus!

http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium...en_parken2.jpg

http://www.dbu.dk/data/dbu/imagedb/4261.jpg

2: Swedbank Stadion (Sweden)
A 24 000 stadium with incredible atmosphere, nice looking facade, kind of like a UFO (in a good way!)

http://www.mobilblogg.nu/cache/ttf/0...40ee99c3e8.jpg

3: Brøndby Stadion (Denmark)
Its place as number three is mostly because I like how it looks, the 30 000 something on the stands make for big games to be played here.

http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium...n_brondby1.jpg

4: New Old Ullevi (Sweden)
Surpasses Brøndby Stadion if talking atmosphere, incredible steep stands and location in the midst of Gothenburg, this is one mouthfull little arena, to bad it doesn´t look as good on the outside as on the inside.

http://static.blogstorage.hi-pi.com/...1237478368.jpg

5: Norrköping Arena "Parken" (Sweden)
Quickly becoming a new "english-like" arena which is enough to get on my list! More of these boxarenas in scandinavia please!

Well here´s for the Stadiums soon to come, and sorry for the links, I haven´t figured out how to post pictures yet

1: Swedbank Arena Swe
50 000 on the stands, red seats and colorswifting panels, this is soon (2012) the biggest and best in Scandinavia!

http://arenastaden.se.loopiadns.com/...nattetid02.jpg

looks kind of like a viking ship don´t you think?

2: Stockholm arena Swe
probably the most beautiful 30 000 stadium in the world once it is built!
