Bloody hell guys, stop being such killjoys!

It annoys me how any thread that's started which could've been remotely linked to the subject of another thread gets a torrent of 'there's no need for this thread, it could've been put in .... thread' rather than constructive answers

I know we don't want a load of threads about rubbish, but if they don't interest anyone they will just drop to the bottom.

This isn't just aimed at you two BTW

Nice video. I'm glad they're keeping the paternoster lifts through the refurb.

Yeah, I agree with PaulMat. You can't say its dead in here in another thread, then shoot someone down for actually posting something in another thread :P

Sorry if I come across as a kiljoy guys, but I fully agree that when we have a perfectly good Arts Tower thread, there shouldn't be a new thread about the Arts Tower LIFT.

Should all buildings get their own lift threads?

Well, the lift in the atrium, down the bottom, at Hallam started to smell of oil on friday so I might make a new thread about that

Nice video. I'm glad they're keeping the paternoster lifts through the refurb.
I was just pointing out to someone who's new to our sub-forum that we don't need to start new threads for every piece of news, and that there was already a suitable thread for this video.

And Paul, I hardly think that this is just 'remotely linked'. I'd say it's a fact that this ought to go in the Arts Tower Thread!

Im a moderator on another forum and something like this would just be merged into the other thread, that way it does keep the forum clean. We could do with a sheffield moderator really, then these kind of threads can just be merged together.

And on topic thats a weird video, there are quite a few weird videos about them lifts if you have a look around on google and youtube.

The latter. In more lift related news, the same lift made a horrific crack and crunch sound as I wheeled off some 3D kit today, and dropped a good few inches.

I don't think I'll be using it again this week.

I've seen students stuck in there before.

There was a bunch of women screaming to get out once. Seemingly, they were stuck at the 5th floor but the doors wouldn't open. It was amusing, but probably not for the people stuck inside.

Most of the lifts at Hallam are bad, that one at the end always seems bad, and the one in adsetts always makes weird noises.

I hate to say I told you so, but... Well, myself and Kyle did :p. This is precisely why we have a thread on the Arts Tower - which I simply directed the original (newbie) poster to, for their own future knowledge.

I sincerely doubt that they'd intended this become the "official Hallam Uni lift are shit Thread" when they started it.
