Intricate Buildings

Super intricate buildings - any style, any age but the more eclectic this collection gets the better. Interior or exterior.

To start off I give you:

Leuven Town Hall, Belgian Gothic

Assamkirche, Munich, Baroque

Royal Holloway, London -neo-Tudor/ chateau style

Court of the Lions, Alhambra, Moorish Islamic

Sainte Chappelle, Paris, neo Gothic.

The intricacy here is not in the carving but the stained galss windows. The photos cant really do justice on the detail and vivid colour of the whole place due to exposure.

merchants houses, Jaisalmer, Mughal Islamic

Temple of Heaven, Beijing, Ming Chinese

Henry VII Chapel, Westminster Abbey, London,
English Gothic

Rinno-ji Temple, Nikko Japan anti-zen!

a complete contrast to the ascetic zen style (eg Katsura Palace) that so inspired the modernists

Ananta Samakhon Throne Hall, Bangkok
neo-Renaissance

not the exterior

but the interior. These are very rare images, not many people have ever seen the inside of this place. It was a special occasion, the kings 60th year on the throne.

yep, those are ALL the Royal families in the world

Jain Temple, Ranakpur, India

similarly the new Akshardham Temple, Delhi

Il Duomo, Milan,
Gothic

this one really is like a fairy tale (thanx MeltyMan). I looked up the mausoleum of Shah-e-Cheragh, Shiraz, Iran and got these pix.

(I got Baraka too - the bits with the fluffy chicks...)

you can see why they also call it Aladdin's Cave.

Santa Prisc, Taxco, Mexico

Thanx to Latoso

This is the comparatively tame exterior:

This is the crazy altar: (By the way, this is all real 24k gold.)

And finally the organ:
