I'm not an expert with computer-drawings en etc.

But I remember a stadium proposal of Estudiantes de la Plata (link : http://sp9.fotolog.com/photo/57/22/2...14988166_f.jpg)

So what do you think :
- between the chimneys the small stand with skyboxes (and they have still room enough to make offices, lounge, restaurants, press room and...
- if you see the render of the link : all seater - blue seats - ...

Just an idea, but in can be cool

Honestly I prefer the original project to build a shopping centre in Battersea Power Station. It's more simple and economic.

According to Reuters, it appears that Chelsea won't get the battersea site as they have been outbid: http://football.uk.reuters.com/footb...1C8033923B.php

The only 2 options left as far as i'm aware is to raise their capacity to 55,000 or to build a 60,000 stadium at earls court.

The official announcement of who will get the stadium may be announced this week.

If this report turns out to be true, I have to say that I'm pleased.

I really couldn't see a 60K football stadium doing anything but destroying the integrity of this iconic building.

Nice idea in principle. But not in practice.

Honestly, you're from Firenze and yet want to go for the 'more simple and economic' choice? Good job that Brunelleschi didn't have the same level of ambition when designing Il Duomo...

It appears the malaysian property owner's winning bid is £375m. No official statements released still.

What a shame, would have been something great, completely unique and give the old brick lady a new lease of life

It'll still get a new lease on life, just not as a stadium.

Would've been cool tho.

Yea it's great that it will be tarted up anyway, I just prefer stadiums to shopping centres.

I can see it from the end of my road so would hate to loss the sight, it would have been nice to live within walking distance of my home team and save me driving every week.

Why not build at Earls Court, then they could build a stadium with retractable pitch and roof so it can be used for other purposes.

There's already a massive housing project planned for Earls Court, so Chelsea would need to make an offer to the developer, and there's certainly no guarantee any offer for the land would be accepted. Thinking about it, I think QPR are also looking for land to build a new stadium. Gosh, land is certainly getting more and more limited in London, especially when it comes to wanting to build something like a new stadium.

Land limited in London?.... Get right out of town!... Next thing you're going to tell me is they're short on space in Manhattan...[/sarcasm]

Indeed, time to start building in Hyde Park and Central Park.
