What is the racial breakdown of the city? What percent is from Vancouver? I am impressed by the immensity and flow of the skyline. It doesn't look as "boomtown" as other China cities.

WTF??? anyway, its 98% Han, 1.9% ethnic minorities, and probably .1% foreigners, I doubt there's more than 1,000 people from Vancouver, unless if you're counting returned Chinese, may be up to 25,000 I think. Beijing's skyline is controlled, height limits, good design required, Beijing is so much better than just 5 years ago, then it was a gritty industrial city with little greenery, it was quite depressing but it felt like "real China", if you know what I mean. Now it's leagues above any city near it, and it's a beacon of wealth, it's a great livable city, very good parks, good nightlife compared to before, more art and stuff like that, so much to do everywhere.
