The construction of pier РВ9 of Danube Bridge Vidin-Calafat in the navigable channel of the river was completed. The pier is 38,68 meters high. There are 24 piles in its foundation at a depth from 68 to 80 meters. One thousand and seventy-six tons reinforcement and 6277 m3 concrete were used for their construction. The pile cap, built in the form of a truncated pyramid over the piles, is 6 meters high. Four hundred and fifty-eight tons of reinforcement and 2400 m3 concrete were used for its construction. The pier erected over the pile cap, on which the segments of the superstructure shall be laid in the navigable channel is 11,50 meters high. Eighty-five tons reinforcement and 358 m3 concrete have been used for its construction. In the upper part of the pier PB9 there are two pylons erected, each of height 27,18 meters. Sixty-three tons reinforcement and 332 m3 concrete have been used for them. Nineteen pairs of ship impact protections will be mounted there each of weight from 80 to 120 tons.
The work in the navigable channel of the Danube is executed with the help of barges which transport all the necessary materials and machines. In this part of the river there are four piers which are at different stages of construction. The span between them is 180 meters. Their height will make the passing of all types of ships possible without the necessity to disassemble the forebridge of the ships.

Pier РВ9 is constructed by the companies: “FCC Construccion”, “Terratest”, “BBR PTE”, “PERI” and “ALCOR”.

After the completion of the assembly of the superstructure of the bridge in the non-navigable channel (from the first to the eight pier), the construction of the cantilever wing, on both sides of the assembled segments, is going on.

The bridge construction is 60% completed, and the Adjoining Infrastructure – at 45%.

At the moment the people employed for the construction of Danube Bridge Vidin-Calafat are 975 persons, 80% of which are Bulgarians and 20 % - foreign workers.

Traditionally, in Bulgaria and in Spain the constructors, fix a flag when they execute the height limit of a construction.

So Natalie Vekshel Directorate General for Regional Development of the European Commission presented a summary of the strategy.

The rationale behind the strategy excludes new funds, because the current provided over 100 billion for the regions along the river valley. With the approval by the Parliament in January will be determined and the Member under the various coordinators of the strategy, such as tourism or infrastructure, for example.

The strategy actually creates a second "macro" of the EU after that in the Baltic Sea. Priority axes include mobility, energy, pollution, employment and security.

Development of the strategy will allow for priority funding of projects when they start negotiations for the next programming period 2014 - 2020, the said Deputy Minister of Regional Development Liliana Pavlova.

The strategy includes specific targets and deadlines, such as increased freight transport on the Danube by 20% by 2020 and restore the ecosystem of the Black Sea by 2020 in the state since 1960, and permanent tasks such as promotion of the Danube region as a tourist destination, construction of treatment plants for wastewater, where appropriate, and more.

Among the projects are symbolic objects such as Danube scenic route from the Black Forest to the Black Sea or cycling route along the River.

Development strategy for the Danube Region unites 14 countries, of which eight are EU members.

Danube Strategy - development plan for the largest but also one of the poorest regions in Europe, will be implemented in all Danube countries in the period 2014 - 2020 D. In this year the document was one of the most widely discussed in the community.

Based on the idea of EU regional policy in the next programming period should be based on partnerships between stakeholders, the strategy seeks to make general strategic planning of a large geographical region, to create a program for implementation of specific projects relevant to the development of the Danube and held throughout European Union.

Yes, but i am using my iPhone... just kidding.
Who said that the photos are not visible?
Somethimes it takes seconds to load the page, and it's difficult to scroll, because there are too many photos and because of their size (in bytes, not in inches ).
