MMC and its United Kingdom partner, Frazer-Nash, will start building a starter line sometime early next year. The monorail system is self-propelled and doesn't have the necessity for a power source on the guideway. Penang is Malaysia's key manufacturing hub. It appears there are 2 routes.. Route 1 from Tg Tokong - airport, and Route 2 connecting Komtar - Bandar Baru Air Itam - Paya Terubong crossing route 1 at Air Itam interchange. So, if you want to travel from Tg Bungah to Komtar, looks like you'll have to take the monorail from Tg Tokong to Air Itam (next to MBS) and change to another train to Komtar.. no direct link through Burmah Rd.. wonder if it'll be longer than taking the bus...
