Of course a render is fake that's why is a render.

The picture was shot from one of the buildings around Bei-haining Road, An impressive old town.

one of the buildings in the orange square (just a wild guess.. )

and dont you notice? that big building in the front of the photo has completely vanished in the 2nd render..also jin mao tower randomly poped up in the 2nd render

I'm pretty sure it was taken from that U/C building further north on Sichuan Rd., next to the metro station that is under construction there. Can't remember the name of the building, but I posted an update on it last summer.

So the buildings in the edushi 3D don't corespond to the buildings in the pictures ?

P.S.
Did I guess corect the position in the big picture of central Shanghai?

Edushi is a bit outdated I think. None of the new towers along Sichuan Lu are indicated there as far as I know.

I'm not completely sure, but I think your arrow points at BM Tower - CITIC Plaza should be the one just left of it with the "dark top" (being the green scaffolding).

I took that "pointy hat" building next to the CITIC Plaza as referince...



the big photo is unclear, so I can't say that for sure...

You can't tell in any of these pictures, but the cladding is a "dragon-scale"-like scheme, similar to Nanjing's Zifeng Greenland Plaza. Pretty sweet.
