i think so...as far as i know BPI is the Biggest/largest bank in the Philippines as being a part of my course is to study about banking and financing statements of all banks here in the philippines...jejejeje

but for this 2008 i think 3 of them are now on the top level position to defend their assets from their costumers "US"...Bank of the Philippines Island, Metro Bank and newly merged Banco De Oro UniBank (Banco De Oro Equitable PCI Bank)

I think for the End of this 2008 this Filipino Billionaires and Multi Millionaires will rise for this year even our economy is not well good unlike our Malaysia and Singapore....but i hope our list of billionaires will multiply or add more in Forbes this coming year so that Investor's should know the Filipinos are not behind at all...we are lucky done other some Rich country in Europe.....

RP's tallest building soon to rise in Taguig
09/08/2008 | 10:23 PM

MANILA, Philippines - Taguig City will soon become the site of the country’s tallest building, Mayor Freddie Tinga disclosed Monday.

Tinga said Federal Land Tower, a real estate property developer, will construct a 66-storey building that will house a five-star hotel, as well as residential and commercial units.

The mayor claimed the building will outclass the 55-storey Philippine Bank Communication (PBCom) Tower in Makati City, so far the highest edifice in the country with its 241-meter height, comprising 55 floors.

“The completion of the country’s tallest building at The Fort will complement our efforts in promoting Taguig as a ‘total package’ city and will certainly put us in the tourism map of the Philippines,” Tinga said.

The P20-billion building will be constructed on a 27-hectare lot in the North Bonifacio district , which is jointly owned by the Metrobank Group of Companies and the state-owned Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA).

Tinga said the construction of the building will begin later this year.Federal Land, Inc., member of the business tycoon George TK Sy's Metrobank Group, will undertake the project.
Tinga said the first 25 floors of the skyscraper will be occupied by the Grand Hyatt Hotel, which will have 500 to 600 rooms and high-luxury hotel facilities.

“Taguig is fast becoming an ideal tourism destination in Metro Manila,” said Tinga said, adding that it would be the most ambitious project in the history of tall buildings in the country.

Tinga said the Federal Land Tower will open more opportunities for the Taguig residents as it will generate more jobs.

Meanwhile, Federal Land, Inc. president Alfred Ty said choosing Taguig City for the project was an "easy decision," citing the rapidly growing developments as a result of forward-looking urban planning schemes. - GMANews.TV

tallest? they are basing PBCom's height at 241m, compared to the probable height of 250m for this building....but officially, PBCom is measured until the tip of its architectural spire (as measured officially by CTBUH) at 259m, or 9m more than the planned 250m tower...

I Think this thread should be moved to the highrises section already.
Too bad for the 333m.

it was mentioned that it was supposed to start construction in the last quarter of 2008 (obviously moved to a later date) and will have 2 phases: (1) the office building and (2) residential buildings. i'm guessing that the residential will come later on and perhaps be tackled by federal land.

here's the renders:

it's confirmed.

only 250 meters

Pres. Aquino led the unveiling of the 66 storey The Grand Hyatt Hotel. They have full page ads in today's newspaper. Really great news.
