My friend, what do you expect? The vast majority of Americans have never travelled outside their state, let alone overseas! They see these "copies" of Greco-Roman architecture in a limited area of Washington and they think it is nicer than Rome, for example, which is comprised of 2000 years' worth of untouched/unaltered architecture! How can you blame them? Ignorance is bliss.

Don't get me wrong, these pics are nice but as Kampflamm wrote, there are areas in Washington that are only minutes from these pics and I tell you, the word "ghetto" is the only word that can be used to describe it. Its actually quite sad that such delapitated and high-crime areas lie within the world's supposed "most powerful capital".

OH DUEAR!!!!! US STUPIED AMERRICANNS ARE SO DUMB!!! ALLL WEE DOOO IS SIT AT HOMMME AND WATCH FOX NEWS AND HATE EVERYONER ELSE!!!

Seriously, I'm tired of the Euro centric crap on this board. D.C. is a gorgeous city. Have you ever been there? While i'm not saying it's preitter than Rome, it comes close. And some of you wonder why some Americans hate Europe??? It's hard not to sometimes when people shove shit like this down the rest of the world's throat. God and D.C's not all ghettos. I'm sorry, but D.C.'s a hell of a lot preitter than Athens and Toronto

Come to Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights as well as the suburbs in MD and VA as well.
