I think will take a bit of time. Since they have to contact all the owners, then get their vote and capital injection to demolish and redo. So not that easy to resolve. That is why u still see a lot of empty, seemingly haunted houses, which were abandon by owners. And nobody can touch the place.

what's the reason the can't operate in KK?
couldn't find a suitable location? market domination by Giant? transportation of goods problem? strict laws and high taxation at shipping port?
we're interested to know the outcome of the survey

Usually tesco dares to open at anywhere....however....whenever there's a new tesco outlet open...there will sure be another giant outlet opening either next to it or nearby. Maybe tesco just want to concentrate on peninsula 1st b4 planning to open an outlet in sabah.

I still rmb when my bro work in carrefour....the marketing dept did a survey on melaka....(years back....b4 tesco came to msia)...they say melaka got no market. Look at Tesco melaka now......so successful. That proofs Carre4 wrong. Now that they have opened in melaka but then biz not that good compared to tesco in melaka.

No, not really… It's quite logical within reason.

Take this for example...
24 Hours Drive Thru + Housing Area(s) = KA-CHING$$$$$!!!

Where there is a tesco, there wil b a jusco or vice versa. There r too many giants in malaysia alredi. Hope they wil not open many more giants. Am bored to c too many giants everywhere i go in malaysia.
I think KK has huge market. It is possible that Tesco or Jusco or Carrefour wil go there. Even melaka not having as huge market as KK wil hv 2 jusco n 2 tesco

not much choice of places left for tesco and carrefour to open up here
so far the mall, suria sabah, harbour city and one place mall is the only option left
unless they found a plot of land and build their own building

my opinion is Putatan market segment will be a great stop for people who are living around it and for those who are passing it on the way home to lok kawi, papar and above or merely going to work in the morning
well if now there isn't any demand, i guess it will be a potential place to develop in another 5 - 10 years

In that case why not just open a new outlet instead of moving one?

too much competition in centre point i guess
with Kenny Rogers, Pizza Hut, McDonald and KFC just located right below burger king, i think they feel the pain too in losing some customers and they might found a higher demand in putatan
so far putatan only have KFC
btw is the Kenny Rogers in Karamunsing still there?
sushi king has opened up another branch in city mall few weeks ago if you guys didn't realize
