Golden Square

Public Square in the heart of Soho

This is a square thats full of character and is the perfect location for people watching. Surrounded by beautiful town houses that have since been converted into million pound apartments and offices the square is often quiet and is usualy filled with office workers having lunch. Its located just between Regents street and Brewer street so there is always an afluent mix of passersby. The main focus of the square is the statues of George II, which is one of only two in London.

Institute of Contemporary Arts

This is a real hidden gem and I only discovered it exsisted a few months ago! but what a discovery, this John Nash neo classical building is home to some of London's most up and coming in the arts world. Not only does it showcase the best in British talent but the juxtaposition of contemporary art with the neo classical decor is simply beautiful. Not only is this space used for exhibitions but it is also home to a bar cafe and a nightclub which plays host to new DJ's. Its decor is worth visiting alone, but the real talent that is on display makes this a gem. And located just off the Mall! Who would have thought...

Design Museum

I'm sure everybody on this forum knows or has been to the Design Museum on Shad Thames. In striking white the museum is hard to miss, with regular exhibitions there is always something new to see and experience at the Design Museum. (currently the museum has a Rogers architecture exhibition).
It has some great open plan exhibition areas that really allow the exhibitions to do the talking.
Dont forget to visit the Design Shop on the way out to buy some great design classics!

The Zetter

Probably the most stylish Hotel I ever had the luxury to stay in, the hotel has all the charm of a period build, but is decorated with a contemporary theme to the highest standard.

There has been no expense spared in the Zetter and it shows, each suite and room is swamped with designer bedding and cushions, even the furniture adorning each room is a design piece.

The hotel is a interior designers dream, the use of colour, shape and texture throughout make this an adults play ground. Its location next to St Johns Square make an ideal view.

Its a fun hotel with excellent service that topped off what was a fantastic stay.

Sketch

This is possibly the craziest Restraunt’s you will ever visit! Sketch is a crazy headache of a restaurant with the most outrageous furniture and decor!

Entering the space age world of Sketch makes it memorable from the off, the service and food wasn’t anything exceptional and it is pricey, however the style of the restaurant completely makes up for it.

Have your camera at the ready, take some aspirin and prepare for a mish mash of textures, styles and colours!
