Nice pictures GJ10. I was lucky enough to tour much of Saurashtra, including Mandvi, Morbi, Bhuj, Jamnagar and Gandhidham among others. In fact, I was in Bhuj only a few weeks before the earthquake struck.
My favorite place in Gujarat is undoubtedly Dwarka. It really felt being closer to God. ![]() Thanks to nisvis1 at www.flickr.com ![]() thanks to pardeshi at www.flickr.com ![]() thanks to chatts at www.flickr.com |

Sounds like an excellent trip Kronik! Id really like to go to Kutch, but I was visiting Gujarat whilst the rebuilding was still going on so we decided not to go there. The plane to Mumbai from Jamnagar went via Bhuj (even though its in the opposite direction!) but out of the window, despite the destruction, Bhuj looked like a place with a LOT of character and potential.
I did a slightly different tour once, it was: Jamnagar-Dwarka-Nageshwar-Porbandar-Junagadh-Somnath-Wirpur-Gondal-Rajkot and then back to Jamnagar. (Pathetically no pics!!! ) But I know what you mean about Dwarka, if you enjoyed that I suggest you also visit Somnath sometime, its another coastal religious city (Shiva temple) with a really nice atmosphere!Going by these pics, Somnath looks a lot cleaner, although I dont remember it being very well maintained when I went! Maybe they are finally deciding to take care of historical monuments? courtesy lovelychigs @ flickr ![]() courtesy barry's monkey @ flickr ![]() spidey4help @ flickr

Somewhat misleadingly named "Big Towers" development in Jamnagar, quite nice nonetheless!
