I had the luck last year to visit L.A and I thought the city is awesome, but its so dirty and all the stores (mostly) smell bad. Santa Monica Pier was amazing.

The people were really nice. Downtown L.A had a loooooot of homeless people. I was scared to walk down the street with all the black AND white people looking at you like you look like an alian.

L.A IS HUGEEEEE

interesting. yeah i looked it up...they used to be endemic to australia but obviously they've been imported around the world. i'm not sure if they were a good idea for california as the leaves are full of oil and burn so easily (causing bushfires).

nice pics

Downtown LA has really cleaned up and it's reduced a lot of it's homeless problem and that new LA Live project is doing wonders for Downtown LA. I remember going to LA 3 years ago and I was impressed I don't know why people call LA dirty when it's not even that bad at all I thought most of it was just normal and fine and looked pretty upkept like any other city. It's not like New York dirty or gritty or Chicago gritty. YeahLA has gritty areas but not on the same scale as New York and Chicago's southside.

Just got back from a week in LA last week... it was my third time to this amazing city! I LOVE LA!! Manhattan and Hermosa Beach, the Griffith Observatory, West Hollywood...all amazingly cool, groovy, beautiful. LA does have its dirty areas, but the mix of people, races, colours, the rich mansions closeby some pretty poor apartments, all make LA a city full of life! I want to go back...

There are millions upon millions of Eucalyptus (Gum) trees in California. They are ubiquitous in every major urban part of the state.
