Hey, any skyscraper that's modeled after a pack of cigarettes is OK in my book.

The old ones. They may have been somewhat bland, but they were more iconic than the new one ever will be.

For me there exists (ed) just one world trade center and thats the old one with the twin towers. The new one will never get this impressive and unique feeling of this two migthy towers.

To my opinion the old ones were ugly, but also a real icon. The Freedom tower looks nice, but doubt it will be an icon, which is to my opinion a missed chance. I hoped that they would build something astonishing back as a signal, rather than a sort of monument with the roof and spire heights.

Maybe from far, the Twin Towers were ugly. But once you stood beneath them, they take your breath away. The entrance was beautiful and one of its kind. If you never seen it, you'll never know it.

And this is so ironic, some weeks before 9/11:

This picture is one that I really like:

And then... the end.

Yea i dont get how people are saying the old ones where nicer. The only thing that made them iconic is the fact that they where tall, well guess what the Freedom Tower is Just as big, along with WTC 2 which is 1340 ft, WTC 3 which is 1255, and WTC 4 which will be almost 1000 ft, and these towers all have great style there not just rectangles.

Too bad Fail poll is fail.

The choices imply you have to hate one to like the other, which is not true in the least. Not to mention there's no way I'll be sure which I like better until I stand in front of the new ones.

I agree, it is completely the same for me. Don't get me wrong, i like the new wtc, but it sure has to fill a very large gap... Maybe it also has to do with age. People who are around their 30s-40s grew up with that image above.

Time will tell i guess.
