Helicopters to handle Expo emergency cases
19 March 2010
Shanghai Daily

HELICOPTERS will be used during the 2010 Shanghai World Expo to transport patients from the Expo zone to designated hospitals, officials from Shanghai Health Bureau said yesterday.

The Shanghai Medical Emergency Center is cooperating with the Shanghai Police Aviation Force, which has one medical helicopter and another copter that will be used as backup.

Xu Jianguang, director of Shanghai Health Bureau, said Shanghai has made detailed preparations for medical needs.

"Prevention of major public health events and infectious disease outbreak, drinking water safety inside the Expo zone, food safety and effective medical service are our top tasks for a smooth Expo," Xu said.

Local health authorities will set up five first-aid stations and have designated seven nearby hospitals to receive patients transported from the zone.

Ruijin Hospital and Huashan Hospital, two of the seven designated care centers, have helicopter pads and fast channels from the pad to the operating room.

First aid at medical stations will be free, but the follow-up treatment at hospitals will be a paid service.

The charging mechanism is under discussion.

Wang said currently the most urgent task is the construction of facilities in the venues.

Utrolig bra og kreativt PR-triks. Jeg er helt sikker på at det vil lokke mange folk til den danske paviljongen!

It's a folk pattern, used in traditional clothes, decoration (Łowicki style ["styl" in Polish]) sth like this:

http://images.google.pl/images?um=1&...art=21&ndsp=21 , as you can see, there is even the Expo logo on that page

Do some search snapdragon. It's a typical urban transformation to revive old decayed industrial waterfront area, in the name of expo.

The pavilions invested by foreign countries are temporary, some of them will be shipped back to their home countries after expo, and also there is few great pavilions, UK pavilion I wish, will be permanet keeping.

Except self-build temporary pavilions, most photos in this thread are, lots of permanet buildings are museum, art gallery, cultural center or exhibition hall after expo. Some of them, like arena and theme pavilion, are newly built; other ones, like shipyard and powerplant buildings, are historical preservation and renovation projects.
