There are five buildings of the Expo site which will remain standing after the Expo to form a new urban district of Shanghai in the long run. One of those buildings is the Expo Axis.

It seems that Shanghai Expo still has some problems to solve based on the trial run on Tuesday. With only 10 days left for the official opening, things must be done to make sure the Expo will run smoothly.

One big problem is that queues are way too long and the waiting process is extremely exhausting. I guess this is partially due to that many pavilions are still in preparation. It is understandable that if you go to a fair like this, you have to wait in lines. But if it has to take me about an hour or even more time to get any food, that would probably scare me off. After all, only 200k people were reported to enter the Expo park.

It is a challenge for organizers to take care of such a huge crowd. I learnt that expo staff and volunteers are working very hard--many are working from 7am to 11pm. On the weekend about 500k people are expected, let's hope that the experience will be improved then.

Shouldn't be too hard to just log on to the official website and check for yourself.

Here's an impression of the Belgian pavillion. It looks terribly boring...
