Worlds Best Courthouse?

ok, so the only reason i have made this thread is to showcase my nomination, but i'd like to see the best courhouses of the world!

Quote:
Manchester Civil Justice Centre, Manchester, UK

85 metres
15 floors
courthouse
opened 2007

the Manchester Civil Justice Centre was comisioned in 2002 as a way to consolidate and expand the local civil justice services. A design competion was held and it was won by the Australian architects: Denton Corker Marshal.

Their vision for the building was one to provide transparent justice. the result is the largest court complex in the UK outside of London, contianing 47 courtrooms, it is truly an iconinc building.

sat on a narrow north to south site, the building conserves land by being tall and slender. the different sized courtooms are accomodated in distict layers which are not all the same legnth.
the building has been open for a number of months and has been praised by the legal profession as being a great building to work in. it has also has been praised for the large number of environmental features that it employs.

Outside of England, the world does not focus it's architecture on courthouses... nobody really cares about them... world's best government buildings would be better

Its nice! I like it! A courthouse that doesn't look like something that came from the Ancient Greece!

Not even close to being true. If it's a building, architecture is important. It doesn't matter what the building's purpose is. Even a prison needs attention paid to its architecture. This Manchester building looks great. Good job.

I don't know that they are the world's best, but there are some beautiful, historic courthouse buildings in Atlanta and the state of Georgia. Some of them may "look like something from ancient Greece" and some don't, but it obviously isn't true that no one cares about architecture of courthouses.

the james gandon designed Four courts in Dublin built between 1796 and 1802, the building was destroyed in the Irish civil war of 1922 and most of the public records going back hundreds of years were lost, it was rebuilt and reopened in 1932
