Wachovia Financial Center
Miami, USA HEIGHT: 233m/764 feet FLOORS: 55 floors COMPLETION: 1984 ARCHITECT: Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) designed by Skidmore,Owings & Merrill for the city's dominant bank at the time Southeast Bank. This was the tallest building in Florida until the Four Seasons Tower topped off at 794'/242m this year. This building has won numerous awards including the TOBY award in the US (The Office Building of the Year) in 1990,1996 & 1999 and in 1997 was named by the Wall Street Journal as one of the 50 best buildings in the US. ![]() the Front Facade ![]() ![]() top of the building ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Great and distinctive roof! At 233m it is pretty tall as well. This diagram was supplied by Bobdreamz. It helps you visualize the building better IMO.

I guess being the tallest in the state I live in (until the Four Seasons is done) had something to do with it having a high profile for me personally. I've always liked this building. It does alot with its shape, without actually having a distinctive crown, like a PoMo tower.Something I like about the building that is rarely seen in skyline photos is the trellised plaza on the other side of the building.
