I agree it's beautiful indeed, very classy and simple. Also welcome to SSC, it's always great to find other Copenhageners don't forget to check out the Nordic and Baltic forum.

I've always liked this bridge as well

Built in 1577 under the Ottoman rule, the bridge over Drina passing Visegrad is one of the most famous bridges in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
With its eleven masonry arches, the Visegrad Bridge spans 180 meters with a four-meter wide roadway.Famous for it's beauty and celebrated in Nobel-prize winner Ivo Andric's novel "The Bridge on the Drina".

Some brilliant bridges near my hometown

Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol

A symbol of the city, everyone from Bristol has a picture of it somewhere in their house. Sees very little traffic though as the other side is not very big and can be accessed toll free from bridges further upstream.

Pultney Bridge, Bath

Also a famous symbol. On street level you barely know you are crossing it, contains shops selling souvenirs and expensive tea.

yes, that's right.
rebuilding was important for international community supervisors in BiH to cover up their own presence there, so it was reconstructed very careful, as the original stones were dig out from the river, identified, and put into a bridge on their previous positions. Therefore, close to 98% of the bridge is the very same.
Nice for foreigners and photographers, but it will never be the same one for locals. as well as the whole BiH.. blah..
