The photos were taken from a spot near the runway that is open to the public. There is a fence there, so we have to be a bit creative getting the equipment through. Once in a while a security car rumbles by along the service road on the airport side to take a look at who is there, but it's perfectly fine for spotters to gather there to take pictures.

On my first visit, I was told by a fellow spotter to get there very early - ie. 6am, since most of the international arrivals come at that time. By around noon, that runway closest to the spotting location would not be used very often, and even if so, mostly by Qantas jets. So I got there a bit early on my second visit, and was able to do a lot more spotting.

In the morning its better to be on the Eastern side. In the afternoon on the western side as the sun is behind. Need a 70~300 mm lens for this type of photos
