Gwangju is the biggest city inside Jeolla Provinces area.
Let's give it a new thread of its own.

What a boring collection of buildings.

The architectural standard of Seoul compared with other cities really is chalk and cheese. No wonder every Korean wants to live in the capital.

It's not any worse than living in a city full of boring looking bungalows. Like most american cities, for instance.

I don't think it's boring at all. Every country has its own unique way of architecture. I wouldn't want to see Townhouses and Fairy Tale houses in most Korean cities. Plus, with the country's small land size and huge population, apartments and villas are a great way to make more space for leisure and trees in the cities. Seoul is the capital and it's a special city and the most important city in Korea, so that's why architecture in Seoul has more designs to it. (Even the villas (luxury ones) have different designs and styles in Seoul...esp those in Cheongdam dong area). It's like New York City has great architecture and city life because it's the most important city in the U.S. However, I don't think Pittsburgh or even Baltimore has outstanding architecture to surprise us...that's why those cities are never on the list to go in the U.S...it's mostly NYC, LA, Chicago, Miami, Orlando, or DC.
