I just have been Oido 3 months ago with my wife. There are many seafood shops around that mud beach. It is a very good place for taking a short break. Also there is a pink color Lighthouse beside the seafood market. You can view all over Oido at top of it. Thank for your photos that refresh my great at Oido. By the way I thought it just area near Sanborn but not an island.

Oido used to be an island, but it is now part of the mainland due to landfill projects.

Incheon - Originally called Michuhol in native Korean (Koguryo-baekje) language. Michu is the Hanja pronunciation of original Ancient Korean maeso, maezo, misu or mizu, meaning water. Hol is the hanja pronunciation of Ancient Korean gol, meaning village: thus, water village.

During Koryo dynasty, emperor Injong renamed the town to honor his queen mother, thus the name changes to Inju. (Ju meaning town/city in Hanja)

Later during Choson dynasty, all major counties and cities change their endings into either -cheon (stream) or -san (mountain). Since Inju was next to a body of water, it received the -cheon ending: thus Inchoen.

Yeah, I really like the landscaping around a lot of the newer complexes. Makes for a really pleasant urban environment.

Samsung Raemian (? was that the name? I can't remember exactly?) near Wal-Mart on Yeoksam-ro had exemplary gardens I recall...
