Philadelphia August 2008

Went on vacation to my former home city last week. Here are some teaser photos since I am awaiting them to still upload. August is a quiet month in Philadelphia since most folk are somewhere cooler like the beach or perhaps Greenland. Many more to come.

Nice pictures. The Bellevue Stratford always looks good, no matter what angle.

Again, another impressive set of shots of what is a very impressive American city centre.

Thank you for sharing.

Yeah thanks....I only scratched the surface of this wonderful city. So many contrasts. I miss it dearly. Philly is so laid back for a big city. One of the most authentic bohemian cities left in this land. "If i had a hammer".....

Thanks for the nice pictures. I like the "feel" in a few of them, most especially.

How did you get up there?

I also had just returned from Philadelphia 2 days ago.

Definitely one of the better Downtown's in the country. It's just as I remember it. Philly rocks.

I took tons of building shots but thought you guys would be bored. It is the people that make a city. Philadelphia's downtown is very vibrant.
Burlisav this is for you....non people shots.

Nice thread. Philly has got some epic street life! I also liked some of those funky new condos.

This was beyond excellent. Thanks for sharing and I personally enjoyed all the people scenes. What was the shindig that was going on in the park in city center. Id have to sya Philadlephia may be one of the more underrated cities in the US. NYC,Chi,SF,Bos,La get most of the notoreity but after seeing several spreads of Philly it has to be included in that mix, imo anyway.

Thanks dude.

IMO Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, Boston and San Francisco are the most urbane US cities with extremely vibrant downtowns, density, variety and great rail transit. Philadelphia is a mystery to so many because New York City is only 70 miles away.

Thanks again!

The shindig was a Wednesday night concert held in Rittenhouse Square held by Philadelphia Weekly. Rittenhouse is the heart of the city, quite a magical public square for this country.

Very nice pics, lots of street cafes
I assume from the shots there are lots of beautiful historical buildings. Hope I can visit Philly in the next years.
