Actually there are three islands across the bay, right in fron of the Golden Zone (tourist area)

Cortés just conquered the Aztecs (México City), a big part of México was "colonized" not "coquered".

True he was the second emperor, Iturbide was the first and he was legal not Maximilian.

The French invaded México and them together with the Mexican church and traitors like Miramón and Mejia imposed Maximilian, therefore he was not legal. To be legal the people of a country has to have a part in either voting or accepting it. To me invade and enslave a nation is to conquer them

żWhy do you thing Juárez was able to get the people to unite against the French invaders as well as the Emperor imposed by Napoleon and the Mexican Church?
