Oklahoma needs some more of these supertalls. Are there any plans for more?

it is just short of being a supertall (by ~135 feet).

I agree that it looks like a supertall, especially in the last pic. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Devon 'surprises' us all with a remeasurement of the tower and they say it is 925 as it does look taller than 844. Personally, I always thought/wished they would go for 1000 feet with a tower this beautiful - might as well make your place on the world's significant list of towers. ...

To your question. .. Yes, there are rumors of plans for more significant buildings likely just short of Devon's height; but nothing formally has been announced as of yet other than some very nice infill towers in the original core/which will make the city even MORE dense and one or two that will stretch the core out a bit. No confirmed starts though, yet.

I think in 5 years or so, everyone will likely be impressed with OKC's skyline 'finally' looking like it "should".

The floor plan for the 50th floor provided by Pete on okctalk.com. He also reports the LED lighting should be complete by July.

no announcements. but we've been tracking several new skyscraper projects that are beginning to surface. the next 4 years will yield between 2 and 4 new skyscrapers. i think we're talking generally 20-40 stories each, none taller than devon.

what an underwhelming, poor skyline (pre-devon). how could 1.3 million people even live here?

tulsa is obviously superior in so many ways. their skyline is so good that all of those 1.3 million people should just pack it up and move NE.

From how far out can this tower be seen in such a flat landform?

I think Newcastle suburb is 25+ miles away and most of the towers can be seen quite well from that ridge.

The cities have their own identities. The same goes with Dallas and Fort Worth. One couldn't survive without the other. Yet they are still vastly different!

I agree, it's sad that some people feel the need to keep the "versus" thing going. This isn't even the right thread for it. So, before this gets too far, I'll stop there.

Oh okay cool...I mean the area looks pretty flat, I wonder if it's possible to see 35 miles+ in the open fields

nope, Oklahoma City isn't flat like that; it is rolling plains and ridges.

So you may not even see the tower just 5 miles away, but then see it clearly 30 miles away on a ridge.
