but there aren't 600ft + art deco towers in tulsa, and this thread is about Devon and OKC.

Somebody made a nice comment about OKC's tallest art deco tower, FNC, and then you started talking about Tulsa and that it has 600ft+ art deco towers (which isn't true) and more than OKC (which is).

Given this is Devon/OKC's thread and a skyscraper site, I would expect the discussion to be about OKC and not a competition with somebody always throwing in some other place. If someone does make an erroneous claim - I think you should expect a correction. Just sayin.

Maybe you should start a separate thread about Tulsa's art deco - because Im sure there are many who are interested to see, including me. But OKC's Devon thread isn't the right place.

Fall colors, beautiful sky, and our changing skyline in the distance... Devon is the nub on the right, about to be bigger than its neighbor Oklahoma Tower (that will make it our 4th tallest!)

BTW, crawled up the fire escape of an office building for this one...

You're becoming awfully daring Shane, be careful.
Seriously, great effort.

Oil prices would be a quarter higher and nobody would have Carrie Underwood to stare at but i get your point. Parts of Oklahoma are lame but can you honestly say any of the states to the north of it in the Great Plains are any better?

also, i think crude being .25 higher isnot that much fluxuation if you mean like gas being a quarter more expensive i think thats kind of a huge overestimate since state owned oil companies control like 90% of the oil reserves in the world and investor owned companies all have access to foreign reserves so like whats going to happen

Since you won't change your mind about how crappy Oklahoma is, then what is the best city in Oklahoma in your opinion

Without Oklahoma, you can forget about a lot of cultural contributions (Flaming Lips, Ron Howard, Kristin Chenoweth, 39 Native American tribes and languages), some of the most epic events in American history (land run, oil boom, dust bowl), and a lot of women (tied with California and Ohio for most Miss Americas).

You can say Oklahoma is boring, but it's definitely one of the weirdest states in America so it can't be lumped in with the rest of the plains.

Hey 1930s is vintage and i though vintage was in i would love to see some art deco towers being built, it's not that i don't like glass and steel i love them i'd just like to see some more variety in modern cities and maybe see how art deco buildings would be built with modern materials

Same architect. I actually don't like the BOK Tower. It looks bland and out of place in downtown. Then again, i never liked the WTC Towers either.

and Megan Mullally, Mary Kay Place, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Reba, I can go on...

The 4 years I lived in Oklahoma were amazing! I got to see the state from end to end. Mesa's and cacti in the panhandle, Whichita mountians, turner Falls in the summer, Red slough to view the American Alligator, hiking the Ouichita mountains and even went to McCurtain county to see the palm trees that are native to that part of Oklahoma. There's nothing shitty about Oklahoma in my opinion.

The fact that OKC is on the move is exciting to watch from where I am. To me.... Devon tower is the beacon of urban progress.

Anyone who thinks Oklahoma is horrible has either 1) never been there or 2) obviously been "loved" with no lube, nor reach around ,in a restroom by a trucker along I-40. Otherwise I see no reason why anyone would hate it.
