They have been so quick with adding the cladding, its only like 5 levels below the top of the construction. the lighting is also classic and i think it will look good

This is the Myriad Botanical gardens located across the street from the Devon Tower. It will have its own LED lighting system, hopefully used to coordinate with the Devon Tower.

That should attract an interesting crowd to the area...

The rainbow flag crowd. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Yes, OKC will become a gay mecca because some obscure tourist attraction adds rainbow LED. What an enlightening post.

So does any one know how strong of an earth quake this building can take. The on going events in japan and the recent seismic events in oklahoma made me think about it. But any way this is one of my favorite projects I didn't belive it was going to be done until they actually started building this tower.

You've never heard that rainbows are a symbol for gays? If you light up a tower (or glass bridge) like a giant rainbow flag, they will come. Someone said many years ago 'gay Paris!' and look what happened. P-town, Key West, San Francisco....

That rainbow bridge is almost as bad as this:

And I was just saying (humorously) that I hope they don't light up the Devon tower like the bridge.

This map from the USGS shows that there is a very small percentage of a chance that Oklahoma will see anything above a 6.0. The highest recorded earthquake in Oklahoma is a 5.5 near El Reno, April 9, 1952.

Downtown from the airport. You can see the slight taper of the structure has begun, you can also see the structure of the rotunda at the base now. Also note the new tower crane to the lower right, for a new apartment project that has been moving very fast.

Very nice looking tower, it makes it depressing that the American highrise boom around the 70's couldn't wait until now.

That is weird how there is a heavy spot in the middle.

Just FYI. That area is known as the New Madrid Seismic Zone. It is a weak spot in the North American plate filled with rifts where the plate tried to split apart hundreds of millions of years ago. That weak spot is prone to frequent earthquakes due to modern tectonic activity.

Thanks for that spectacular picture, Shane.

What apartments are you speaking of, by the way? Is that crane in the area of the Deep Deuce?

There is a tall Yellow crane in the Medical district, that might be it!I dont know why anything in Deep Deuce would need a 10-20 story tower crane?See how tall it is in contrast to the Renaisance hotel!

That's kind of what I was thinking, if this is just an apartment complex...
