An update for anyone who was concerned about the real estate impact of Devon's move to a new building- their owner-occupied 19-story building has been purchased by Continental Resources, a publicly traded company from Enid, OK that plans to move 250 corporate employees in and then triple in size by 2015- so make that 750 more new downtown employees in 4 years. This was announced yesterday.

There is still a lot of leased space that Devon has, but if current trends are any indication, OKC is not having any trouble at all attracting corporate jobs from other cities (see 550 high-pay jobs from Boeing announced over the winter).

Yeah I was thinking maybe because of the hill that Deep Deuce is on it would be visible, but also I was surprised to see it because I was just there last week and didn't see a crane. Guess it is medical district, just looks really close to DT due to the lens I guess.

Wasn't there other talks of a potential out of state company possibly in play for a move to OKC after 2012?

It still kind of bugs me that OK City will have a building taller than the tallest in Pittsburgh. If Freud were here he would surely tell me that translates to ***** envy.

Beautiful design though.

This building won't just be taller than anything in Pittsburgh, it will taller than anything in Denver, Miami, Boston, Minneapolis, Phoenix and Detroit-all of which are bigger than Pittsburgh and much bigger than Oklahoma City.

To say OKC has hit a home run with this building is an understatement.

Maybe this will create an envy amongst the businesses in those cities that will spur new CBD developments.

As nearly all of us here already realize, America is largely falling behind the rest of the world concerning urban renewal.

Less envy and more "we need a place to put 3,000 employees in one building"

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 32nd floor is 500 feet. The 36th floor, at roughly 13 ft per floor, should make it about 552 feet tall.
