Yeah, Shakhtar's stadium is definitely world-class. I love the interior and the exterior / surroundings.

100 days before Euro 2012 kick-off

As of today, there are now 100 days left before the opening match of the Euro 2012 soccer championship.

Authorities in Poland, which is co-hosting the tournament with Ukraine, say everything is going according to schedule.

"Everything is going as planned," Poland's Sports Minister Joanna Mucha told journalists.

"On May 15, we intend to declare the country officially ready for the tournament," she said.

"We can't let up, as the most intense period is ahead of us."

On Wednesday evening the Polish national soccer team will take on Portugal in a friendly match at the National Stadium in Warsaw. The game will be the first to be held at the new stadium, which is one of the four that will host Euro 2012 games in Poland.

All stadiums are expected to be completely ready for the tournament, although the same cannot be said of other infrastructure projects.

Poland has failed to complete many of the highways that it had hoped would be ready in time for the tournament.

Euro 2012 kicks off on June 8 in Warsaw, where Poland will play Greece. It ends on July 1 with the final in Kiev, capital of Ukraine.

Does anyone know how ticket sales have gone? Are most matches selling well?

I wonder how crowded the arenas in Ukraine will be. The hotel prices in Kiev etc. is horrible and the interest of getting tickets has not been as high as it normally should be.

Government promises to reduce prices. We'll see.

@ Kuvvaci: I suggest updating the first page, deleting reserve stadia and replacing desings with pics of the actual venues

All of the Croatian tickets were sold out.. now we'll have lottery to determine who gets them. Overall 40k people applied. We will get 6k per match.

It would be interesting to know which teams so far sold out their quota..

I'm also pretty sure that we'll have more fans in the "neutral" sector and with the UEFA sponsor tickets.. its always like that on big competitions

It has massively back fired on the Ukraine. England have not sold all of their ticket allocation for any of the three games. When was the last tournament England didn't sell their allocation? There are rumours that England have only sold 6000 tickets in total for all the games.

As you said the accommodation cost is horrendous. Also travelling between Kiev and Donetsk has put people off going. I'm only off to the Sweden game in Kiev, due to the travelling and lack of accommodation in Donetsk. I'm not prepared to pay £100 for a night in a tent 50 - 100 miles away.

That seems pretty small, only 6,000/match. I am sure more Croatian fans will get tickets to their matches via the free market.

How bad are the hotel prices within a reasonable range of the city? Say 10-25 miles?
