How bad are the hotel prices within a reasonable range of the city? Say 10-25 miles?
When we looked back in December it was in the region of eur500 - eur1000 a night in central Kiev.

You either need to be rich or insane to pay those prices (I wouldn't) but actually you know it from advance that you'll get ripped off in periods like these. The best thing to do is stay with locals (couchsurfing etc) or just go camping with a group of friends (van or tent) around the city (like during euro 2008 a lot of people did). And instead of going to the stadium, just watch the match on a big screen in the centre of the city. Much better atmosphere, more enjoyable to watch and it's for free.

You could see the evolution already during euro 2008 and wc 2006.

Soccer: Abramovich secures Poland-Russia presidential box for €1.2 mln

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich paid €1.2 million to secure the presidential box for the Poland-Russia match at the upcoming Euro 2012 soccer championships, reported Puls Biznesu, which cites unnamed sources.

This means that neither President Bronisław Komorowski nor Prime Minister Donald Tusk will occupy the box during the game, which takes place at Warsaw's National Stadium on June 12.

Mr Abramovich, who has an estimated fortune of $13.4 billion, was ranked 53rd in Forbes' 2011 list of the richest people in the world. He is the owner of the Chelsea soccer club.

Robert Korzeniowski, marketing advisor to UEFA and former race-walk champion, told Puls Biznesu that business packages for Euro 2012 games are proving popular.

“In Poland, over 400 customers have purchased ticket packages so far and that number is growing fast,” he said.

Mr Korzeniowski added that business packages are still available for each match.

The price paid by Mr Abramovich however is in no way indicative of the prices of most match-day VIP packages. The average price for one package is €1,700, with those for the final costing an average of around €6,900.

UEFA;All Euro-2012 tickets are sold!

All Euro-2012 tickets are sold
http://uefaeuro2012.lviv.ua/en/news/...prodano/12075/

All tickets to the final part of the 2012 European Football Championship have been sold, said UEFA Operations Director Martin Kallen. According to him, the Ukrainian-Polish tournament has broken all records in terms of interest in purchasing entry passes to the football matches, and the number of applications alone submitted for them was in excess of 12 million!

“There will be no vacant places at any Euro-2012 arena. There are figures that testify that all the tickets to the championship have been sold. We can get off this subject and move to the football itself. This championship will become symbolic. We have never encountered such interest in the Euro during the entire history of European football,” the football functionary noted.

He said that the most active fans during the ticketing campaign were those from the two host countries, England, the Netherlands and Sweden, and they have got most of the entry passes to the matches of the future continental tournament. The UEFA operations director has also emphasized that the European Football Association is intentionally delaying sending out the tickets, which will have several levels of protection against counterfeiting.

"The official presentation will take place simultaneously in Kyiv and Warsaw on 23 April. The new tickets will have several levels of protection - more than five, and we will start the targeted distribution for fans very soon after 10 May, and everyone who bought tickets will receive them by mail. I assure you that this way all fans will be guaranteed to receive their tickets to the tournament, and those swindlers who want to profit from fake tickets are hardly likely to have the time to create something similar in such a short time", Martin Kallen explained.

Great news. In terms of stadiums and host countries, this will be the most exciting one yet. I don't think there will be any more interesting stadiums and hosts for the next few Euro tournaments.

Strange that there were loads of tickets being offered for sale just before the portal closed.

My prediction is also that there will be loads of sad locals trying to shift tickets for any price, after buying them to sell at a profit.

All estimates seem to suggest that overseas fans are way down on expected numbers, especially in Ukraine. England have only sold 3000 tickets for each group game, for example, when even conservative estimates were thinking of numbers 10 times that figure.

I only saw 2 available games some hours after the closure of the Ticket Portal and you could actually still buy thme with was a shocker due it looked quite the opposite the day before.Heard a lot of conspiracies that the ticket ability what country yours Ip is from
First thought it was UEFA who is buying all the tickets however i just read that the ticket sales exploded the last week ex 8500 Danes both the ticket while the number was close to 1500 a week ago. I also read that all the German games was sold as well and Sweden has sold of course to
UEFA will announce the ratio of ticket sales in the end of April on an official conference in Kiev and Warsaw.
See you in Euro 2012 as for my part in Poland and hopefully in the finals in Kiev

That they have sold out arena's doesn't mean all people will show up. The hotel prices in Kiev will make a lot of people stay home even if they have got tickets to the games.

DLC. They aren't releasing a new Euro game like Euro 08, just downloadable content for FIFA12. Will obviously cost way less than a new full retail game would. Not a bad idea imo.

Since FIFA 13 comes out near September/October, I hope they let the extension run on that as well. I still have FIFA 11, but will probably buy FIFA 13. The stadiums are already created for the game, so I hope they add them onto the next game.

Sad to say this. But many politicians seems to boycott a visit to Ukraine during the championship due to the political situation.
