BUBOMB, you clearly have no clue about scandinavian football so why bother.
Tv income is already way above scotland even per capita and that for a growing sport nowhere near a peak.
The venues are there or being built. Only the future format is still unclear. I am against an outright scandinavian superleague but its an option. you have no idea so forget your planet earth nonsense.
such a league could net 5-20m per year per team in tv income alone, the latest big sponsorship deal was Malmo securing annually 4-5 million.

Compared to that scotland is left as much in the middle ages as most of their fans.
Scottish sporting achievments compared to scaninavian countries are so poor its not even worth comparing

Looking up a few Rangers euro "achievments" its clear that every year they are knocked out in the qualifying round by a financially inferior team or they go out in the group stage finishing behind such teams.

Every year they are downed by financially inferior teams and all they want is more cash, signings etc.
Villareal this year are also way poorer than Rangers.

Some countries actually have a thing called a players bus for when teams travel as a group

I've already been through the Norway TV deal with you. When you compare like with like, Scotland was about the same. The only reason the Norway TV deal was so high was because of how rich Norwegians are. Let's face it, nobody outside of Scandinavia is going to watch any Norwegian football.

I'm afraid you don't have a clue about Scottish football!! How are Villareal poorer than Rangers? 2 years ago Rangers were 75 million in debt!! Villareal put out Man United and Everton!! Explain that one? They are a great team who can attract great players because of the league thay play in, and they get far more TV money than Rangers each year! You seem to think Rangers are a rich club!! We are not! Glasgow is a poor city compared to Scandinavian cities and Rangers get almost no TV money compared to the big teams in Europe!! A poorish country of 5 million people is never going to generate money to compete financially with teams from much bigger countries.

As for other sports, outside of winter sports, Scotland has far more famous sportsmen than any Scandinavian country! Apart from a tennis player 15 years ago and a few footballers, I don't know of any Scandinavian sportsmen or women! Scotland compared to Norway, Scotland compared to Denmark, Scotland compared to Finland, Scotland compared to Sweden - when it comes to all sports, Scotland easily wins all four!

and if Rangers are so poor in Europe, then explain why we knock out Danish teams every time we play them in the Champions League, and why the Scottish League is 10th in Europe, whilst the Scandinavian teams are 19th, 23rd, 26th and 31st!! When Rangers went out of Europe, sometimes it was to poorer clubs, but many times it was to richer clubs.

You are simply jealous because we have a league that gets far more attention than anything in Scandinavia, famous teams, famous stadiums and well known European players in our league. Your stadiums and clubs are rubbish, most people couldn't name 2 teams in Norway, Sweden, Denmark or Finland!!

Rangers have underperformed in Europe, but apart from Rosenborg, we thrash anything Scandinavia can offer! Celtic also got to a UEFA cup final a few years ago. C'mon then, apart from Rosenborg, let's hear about all these great Scandinavian European successes? Scandinavia has a combined population of 25 million, yet only one club has done anything in Europe.

Look who's top of the Norwegian league - Fredrikstad, folllowed by Ham-Kam!! Are they even real teams? OOoohhh, i'm shaking!! I hope Rangers don't get them in a Champions League qualifier!! Paul Le Guen better do his homework to beat these quality sides! Check out their top quality stadiums -

Ham-Kam!

Malmo!! - I thought they made chocolate bourbon biscuits?

Don't get me wrong, I love Scandinavian countries and they are very nice people with great standards of living and they make great porn, but kingdomca, you are a plum!

You should hope you don't get them in a CL qualifer. Remember earlier this season.

Celtic (the best team in scotland by far) NIL vs Armedia (who?) FIVE

Anyway, don't quake in your boots for too long, with Rangers position in the SPL they'll be in the mighty UEFA CUP instead!

CROATIA/Hungary all the way for me I am croatia lol. Look Italy has the stadiums but they are really really really ugly and old I dont like them and I think the italians will make some excess and not renovate any of them and just give them a new paint job. The Stadiums in Poland/Ukraine all look amazing finally somthing intersenting to look at not like Austria/Switerland. However Croatia and Hungary are the smallest croatia has the best beaches in Europe and if you dont belive me go there and see for yourself. With two stadiums beside the sea it will make for alot of fun. Zagreb the capital is by far on of the livlest cities in the whole world with amazing night life. Ok Osjeck is a boring town but that is one city. Hungary I dont know I never went there but they did help us win our indapendence by giving us alot of supplies so I think we and the world should thank them and from what I'v seen Bucharest is one the most beautiful cities I have ever seen

In terms of stadiums I might actually take that bid over Italy, espeically if their planning to updated/roof the Kyiv Olympic Stadium. Both nations are IMHO potential sleeping footballing giants who (along with the Russians and the Turks) could devolp into very strong leagues as they devolp economically.

These are very nice stadiums, but I'd have to see the proposals of the other bids before I support this one for sure.

On November 8, 2005, UEFA's Executive Committee whittled the candidates down to a short list of three:

Italy (11 Committee member votes)
Croatia/Hungary (9 votes)
Poland/Ukraine (7 votes)

Turkey and Greece were eliminated with 6 and 2 votes respectively.

The second phase of the bidding process will involve the submission of even more detailed dossiers by May 31, 2006, followed by UEFA site visits to the short-listed countries in September. The host will be chosen in December 2006.

The following cities have been proposed:

Italy: Rome, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Naples, Palermo, Turin, Genoa and, if tournament will be extended to 24 teams (very probable in fact), Bari, Cagliari, Udine and Verona: the same stadia pool of Italia 90.

Poland/Ukraine: Dnipropetrovsk (UKR), Donetsk (UKR), Gdańsk (POL), Poznań (POL), Kyiv (UKR), Lviv (UKR), Warsaw (POL), Wrocław (POL)

Is it in Budapest?
