Design works on the National Stadium to be commenced
http://www2.e2012.org/en/2_1275.html

On Thursday Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the President of Warsaw, signed the decision specifying the spatial management conditions for the National Stadium in Warsaw. This means that design works for this facility may commence.

The investment will be deployed on the area of the former Stadion Dziesięciolecia, where „Jarmark Europa” („Europe Fair”) is currently in place.

- Decisions concerning the construction of the National Stadium have been already specified and currently the State Treasury may commence works connected with the construction of this stadium - Gronkiewicz-Waltz told the journalists.

The National Stadium, including the adjacent areas where a congress centre, Olympic swimming pool, Aquapark and other facilities will be constructed, shall comprise the National Sport Centre.

The new stadium, planned for 70 thousand spectators, will be constructed before 2012, so as to become the venue of the matches of EURO 2012 - the event to be hosted by Poland and Ukraine.

Euro 2012 in danger

an article by the german press agency dpa as released today, saying that UEFA is seriously concerned about the preparations in Poland and Ukraine. Obviously Platini is ready to restart the bidding process if no major steps are taken until Euro 08.

Nor was Euro 2000, 1996, 1992 or 1988. Seems only banana republics have problems which makes sense.

I would say that some countries have some weird views about other countries but they always end up eating their own words. Or were any of those competitions held in those Banana Republics a failure? Probably better than others, right?

So, I guess it all ends like this:

This is thread that´s wurth nothing and it makes the forum chaotic. This subject could easely be discussed in the main thread about the Euro 2012.
Do I really need to continue about the Olympic Logo thread?
Okay, it´s so easy. I don´t understand you don´t understand.

SkyscraperCity > World Forums > Skyscrapers, Structures and Architecture > Stadiums and Sport Arenas

Says enough or not. This forum is about construction, not about marketing.
There is also a ´bar´ on this forum where you can discuss anything else if you realy want to.

Ok, it seems this was a false, alarm. I smell that is was caused by the Italians who are still moaning over the loss of the euro 2012 bid.

Platini skieruje list do premiera Tuska
PAP | 2008.01.31 16:10

W środę podczas obrad Komitetu Wykonawczego UEFA Platini wyraził zaniepokojenie z powodu "poślizgów" Polski i Ukrainy w przygotowaniach do Euro 2012.
Shortly speaking, the president of Uefa, sent a letter to the president of poland, saying that, EURO 2012, WILL NOT BE TAKEN FROM POLAND AND UKRAINE.

And that some Uefa divisions will be used by the Polish Euro Staff, if the Euro staff wishes.

POLAND & UKRAINE - UEFA EURO 2012

UEFA EURO 2012
Poland & Ukraine

The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2012, will be the 14th European Championship for national football teams sanctioned by UEFA. Poland and Ukraine will be the host nations of the final tournament, scheduled for the summer of 2012, following the election of their joint-bid by UEFA's Executive Committee, on April 18, 2007, in Cardiff, Wales. This bid defeated the other shortlisted bids from Italy and Croatia/Hungary, becoming the third successful joint-bid for the European Championship, after those of Belgium/Netherlands, for Euro 2000, and Austria/Switzerland for Euro 2008.
