Its ludicrous that e.g. a team wins the WC but still has to qualify to Euro, as if its not good enough.

Same should apply for the WC.
If you look at Italy who won the wc in 2006, after they qualified to euro 08, they got powned by the Netherlands, so all of the teams do need a chance, otherwise it will be unfair for many countries.

Speaking of the top 8 teams qualifying, you never know. For example Greece could get first and Croatia second and then Croatia can loose in the play-offs, you never know what can happen in football. Even my team (Ukraine) suprisingly beat England 1-0 in the wc 2010 qualifiers and got second place, and then lost to Greece in the Play-offs, so yea, football is football, its hard to predict scores and who will qualify.

It doesn't matter if you're Italy or Poland or England or Andorra, in theory you can get there and have as much chance as anyone else. The seedings take care of keeping the big teams apart.

Besides which, what would you propopse teams like Spain and Brazil do between tournaments if they don't have competitive qualifiers to play in? Two years is a long time not to play a competitive fixture.

Despite what you say, sponsors won't like your idea much either. If Carlsberg beer, for example, finds that 10 competitive England matches, vital for the team's qualification no longer exist, and are instead replaced by meaningless friendlies with much, much lower TV audience figures and much, much lower potential exposure for their brand, do you think they'll be happy? Of course they won't. Any brand associating themselves with the England national team will have a two year hiatus in which their association cannot be leveraged! If you then expand that across every brand in the top 8 footballing countries across Europe, you're losing a helluva lot of business.
I'm sure UEFA would love that Mo!

What you're suggesting is having no competitive international fixtures for Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Germany, France and England for a period of two years. The only competitive matches these teams would ever play would be in the tournaments themselves (which actually means they'd rarely, if ever, play a competitive match on home soil!!)

And national FAs and UEFA would hate the idea. In England, for example, you'd be replacing five eagerly anticipated 90,000 seat sell-outs at Wembley with some meaningless friendlies which would never draw those sorts of crowds.

Sorry Mo, you have a lot of good things to say, but this suggestion is nuts!
Just playing devil's advocate

I do think the previous WC winner and finalist should be guaranteed a spot at the following WC.

The CL winner and finalist should be guaranteed a spot at the next Champions League.

The CL winner still is, not sure on the finalist. WC Winner had a spot up until 2006 I think, Sepp Blatter and all...

Maybe he wanted to show from the other side the Congress Hall in Warsaw? That's the place of recent E2012 Quals of course - but anyway it's far fetched argument

Not a place and picture is very old. "City Center" was demolished ~2 years ago.

Near the stadium is the train station. A few months after here will be the metro station. There is a lot of trams and buses too. I think that communication won't be a problem.

Yes. Looks like a realy nice location for a stadium.
Will any club teams use it after the Euro or just the national team?

I've recently was in Warsaw near the Royal Castle on the Warsaw Old Town, and stadion building site was clearly visible from there. I suppose it would be nice view when stadion will be finished.
