Yeah but Poland is much richer country, it can afford to build its infrastracture, Ukraine on the other hand is the second poorest country in Europe, regarding this fact I think they're doing their best to be prepared for Euro 2012.

Now Ukraine's economy is much better than in 2009, then was a decline in GDP -15% (one of the biggest downturns in Europe), in 2010 the GDP grew by 6%. In 2011 economic growth forecast to 5%

Damn Ukraine is that poor?? Angola is probably going to pass them in per capita since the country is booming. But Ukraine is still much better overall.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...%29_per_capita

so our (Polish) GDP per capita accounts for 53 % of German's GDP p.c. while Ukrainian GDP p.c. comprises about 33 % of Polish rating.

know I clearly understand why I meet so many Ukrainian workers in my town commuting to work on the local building sites ( southern Poland - Malopolska).

It looks like working in Poland for Ukrainian citizens is more profitable than working in Germany for Poles.

Greetings from the Highlands of Poland

Not to mention the fact it has nothing to do with what's going on in terms of preparations for the Euro. It is now obvious that eight cities are going to host at least three Euro matches and that supporters will probably come to Poland by plane and by car and to Ukraine probably only by plane. They will have a place to stay in all of the cities. And that's it, I hope my country gets as much as possible from the Euro (experience, people coming again as tourists, money, infrastructure) and I hope the same for Ukraine too. But it will be a tournament and people will care about the results and games and at some point they will probably forget where the Euro was held.
