There are unconfirmed news that due to problems with Poznan stadium Euro2012 will be moved to Cracow, so matches will be played on Wisla Krakow stadium.

We will propably know for sure by the end of month.

Krakow has a great new stadium, however, so does Poznan and Poznan's is more impressive capacity-wise if they can get their issues sorted out (which don't seem insurmountable).

So, media beat up I suspect as is the case with 99% of these types of stories.

What are the issues?

Does it have something to do with that 1 stand that looks way smaller than the others and makes the whole stadium look silly?

Security and safety are the biggest issues. Among others problems there is poor standard of some interiors, constant floodings of one of the stands due to rain etc. Appearance of the stadium isn't and can't be the reason.

Euro 2012: new railway station for Poznan

25.03.2011 08:59

Construction has yet to start, but Hungarian investor TriGranit announced yesterday that Poznan would have a new railway station in time for next year's Euro 2012 showdown.

"We are building a new railway station by April 2012 so that Poznan can proudly receive guests during the Euro 2012 tournament," said Arpad Torok of TriGranit.

The station will be part of a 640 million zloty investment called the Integrated Communication Centre Poznan, consisting of office space, a shopping mall, car parks and a hotel.

TriGranit's investment follows on from several other major projects in Poland, including shopping malls in Krakow and Katowice.

The initial Poznan agreement was signed with Polish Rail last June, and demolition is currently afoot, preparing the site.

The entire project is due for completion in 2013.

You are wrong. Stadium thread is called "POLAND - Stadium and Arena Development News". This is general Euro 2012 preparations thread.
