The picture of the Lake are inside my other computer, it has some technical problem.

Annecy is a beautiful wealthy city, like many cities in the french Alps, the hypercenter is historical but everything outside were build after the WWII
This city was really active.

I used to live in Annecy for a long time but since 4 years now, I had to move 25 kms from the city to find an accommodation.

The proximity of Geneva (a lot of Swiss people bought houses in the area) and Italy, the beauty of the surroundings (the city itself, the lake, the mountains...) made Annecy one of the most expensive french city.

The price to live in such a setting is ... priceless...

I have been there in May. The historical center is not big, but for sure one of the best I have ever seen, and the landscape is gorgeous with the lake, the mountains... I only spent half an hour out of the center though.

Thank you for the pics. It brings me nice memmories.

I've been here on summervacation in the years 1998-2000. Yes I was one of the many dutch people that crowds this area in the summer. We stayed on a campsite at the other site of the lake near Lathuille. We've spent three summers in a row in this area because it is absolutely breathtaking. The lake, the mountains, everything. The city of Annecy is real nice. I hope to see some pics of that old castle and of course the lake itself.

The only real pain in the ass was the main road along the westside of the lake to Annecy. Trafficjam caused u easily an hour delay though the traveldistance was only about 20 km. I hope that problem has been solved. It's only fair to say that the alternative, a cycletrack, was one to remember. It was outstanding!

A tunnel under the Semnoz moutain is in project for many years, to resolve this problem and join the south of the agglomeration (freeway A41) to the east side of the lake. So wait and see...

Next you should make a photo tour in Maubeuge, the poorest city in Metropolitan France.
