nice
it has marina in one of the renders, that could be a hint of possible location. Remember a while back there was talk of the marina extension, or marina two, may be some where there, or along coast to waterfront.
could you imagine dubai gets this tower along with tall tower, and those other towers adrian smith revealed, etc, etc. We are living in interesting times, thanks dubai. |

If a tower was built all the way to the outer atmosphere, then we would not need a really big racing rocket to get us into space. We would just use the express glass evelator to get to the top.
They could put some residential, retail, offices and a hotel at the top and call it Dubai Space Mall. The questions is, would they be able to put a casino in there, because although it is in space and not in Dubai or the planet, the building is attached to Dubai and would come under Dubai municpality regulations... Go figure! Sounds far fetched.... impossible? Naaaa, it only needs Sheikh Mo to say build it!!.... some architect would find a way to build it! |

I bet someone said that to the guy who said 'lets have hundreds of man made islands in the shape of the world in the middle of the sea! or when King of the egyptians decided he wanted to build the first pyramid. everyone thought... Get realistic! ![]() anything is possible |

now if you show Burj Dubai pictures to people even 100 years ago, they would think you were crazy for wasting your time thinking of an impoosible structure, obviously it is possible.

i would say yes, and i'm quite sure about that
. the design maybe looks a bit too crazy but it has many facilities against straight towers ( old Twin Towers to use an extreme example )

I agree that Dubai is more likely to build it but as has been stated over and over Dubais' "petrodollars" are only 3 to 5 % of its GDP.

The energy for this building is similar to an idea in New York to retrofit buildings with wind turbines, looks like a green building, the only thing it is missing is a geothermal system underneath it

there are a few things I really need to say about this skyscraper:
1. First of all: This design is really really awesome! 2. It reminds me a little bit of the Dubai Towers Dubai 3, A 400 meter spire for energy production and solar panels on the towers facade, the first really green building in Dubai! definitely the wright way! 4. I still can't believe they are really able to construct that high, I mean it is three times the Burj Dubai and also what is the air like in 2 kilometres height? Is it possible to work there as it would be 500 metres? IÄm also not vey sure about the structure, for me it looks like it would be a building, mainly built out of steel, so it could swing a lot at the top when they don#t include something like a mass damper or what they have at taipei101. Also what is about transportation? how would you bring steel colums up 2000 metres? by helicopter? and if so, wouldn't the costs for that be ridicoulos? 5. For me this vision looks more real than a lot of other ones that we have seen so far just like Sky Tower in Tokio or that 1 mile building somewhere in the USA. And at the moment Dubai is the only city in the world that really has the ego to build such a tower and if Sheikh Mohammed gives a few billion for that project I can really see this one going ahead, at least a little bit smaller. 6. From what is mentioned in the photos it is aimed to be built with water around it. What if this is already much more than only a vision? We have a few new projects that all have big enough water areas within the development and where we still don't have any detailed plans, towers or stuff like that. What if this is planned for projects like The Universe, Mohammed bin rashid Gardens, Jumeirah Hills or that other stuff around Burj al Arab. It could look awesome somewhere in jumeirah Hills only a few meters away from the Tameer tower at Hard Rock Hotel... Just a few things I thought about. |

mhhh your comments are really great king.......
just one thing to the word VISION... maybe this is a part of sheick Moīs VISION for Dubai..... I mean Dubai has acchieved thing that we all didnīt believed that it can be realised just like Burj Dubai although itīs "small" compared to this tower or things like the reclamation of those big islands.... And since the creator of this thread told us, that the E-mail he get from his friend, which includes those renders we have seen, is related to the Mammut group. OMG that gave me a heart attack and hopes that this could get a real project. The text in those renders contains so much details which are related to this tower. It seams like there were really architects sitting around a table and thought about this design and tower..... All the other visions we saw were undetailes renders or fake...... mhh for the location, i think the best location would be an own island, maybe in the universe project if it gets real and this island is connected via a tunnel which has a connection to SZR imagine this tower infront of "the world"......

A huge building like that won't cost less than a million of dollars.
