Trashliev Valentin, majority shareholder in the "Euro Alliance Engineering":

Large or small, each site can be complicated

Author: Construction City

Valentin Trashliev, majority shareholder in the "Euro Alliance Engineering" and CEO of companies in the group "Euro Alliance", is a graduate of Technical University Dresden, Germany, in 1974, in "Architecture and engineering". He worked as a designer in "Sofproekt" - workshops for the construction of Sofia, Sofia's chief architect of the district chief in the Ministry of Regional Development. Since 1990, construction business development. His company has worked on the subway's tunnel excavation and consolidation of a number of construction projects in Bulgaria, including that of the mall and office tower in the project "Europe Park", 500, 000 sq m.

Mr. Trashliev, what are the challenges in the work of large-scale projects?

- Our business start sites and this means that our work depends on the successful launch of any object. In this sense, large objects and cause larger problems of organizational nature. Otherwise, large and small objects depend on many indicators - from the project, geology, etc. Anyone can be complicated to implement. Unfavorable geology is a prerequisite for the implementation complexity. The project defines the way (method) implementation, which also depends on the complexity of the execution itself.

What are the major sites that are currently performing, and what is their complexity and specificity?

- Companies in the group "Evroalians" - "Stroyinject" AD, "Adval" AD, "Metal complex" Ltd, "Beton Complex" Ltd., "Map Invest" Ltd., involved and participated in the foundation and strengthening of almost all major sites in Bulgaria, both large and small buildings, and in linear objects - underground, deep excavations and more. In recent years we have fulfilled and continue to "Bulgaria Mall", "Liulin Mall", "Mega Mall", "Europe Center" and "Europe Tower," as well as strengthening and building most of the subway - metro 19 Boulevard area, "Sakharov" to "Tsarigradsko road," Station 8 Station 9 Station 10 and others.

Each project has its specificity.

Certainly more complex the deeper trenches. "Bulgaria Mall" is the deepest pit in Bulgaria. "Europe Center and Tower areas" is the largest excavation of approximately 500 thousand cubic meters. These were excavated from a "mega mall" and "Megapark". We have to perform the foundation of the higher bodies "Europe Center and Tower areas" 60-80 meter pilots Ɵ1200 - Ɵ1500. This is also a great challenge to be made for the first time in Bulgaria.

One of the most complex sites, however, Metro 8. Extremely favorable geology, soils, embankments, sand, high groundwater, ie any adverse conditions in the presence of centuries-old archaeological heritage.

How is the problem with podpodchvenite waters of objects in Sofia?

- High ground water are always a problem in strengthening, especially in urban areas, where dense liaison. On the one hand, to perform qualitative strengthening foundation and high groundwater, it is necessary to conduct active vodoponizhavane. On the other hand, can cause vodoponizhavaneto settlements and thus cause damage to neighboring buildings. So when such activities are handled and this can be performed only by companies with long practice and experience.

Another problem is the treatment of podpopchvenite water are pumped in vodoponizhavaneto. This should be paid more attention in the future. These waters are often contaminated by chemical and physical impurities and should not be allowed in untreated sewage or in open ponds.

What are the technological difficulties encountered and how they solve?

- Any facility, complete with driver, slotted, anchors, injection, rabbet, shotcrete, is its problem-solving and to each is approached individually. It is difficult to answer clearly what should be done. Here theory and practice together all participants - designers, geologists, builders, should take a decision together, often taking measured risks.

In no case, however, should not be compromised by any character. Something in the acute competition recently doing some would call them fictitious companies.

This activity is based on serious science, the findings of long practice and not allow any free performances.

No activity so far, but the the project is not cancelled and the construction company "Euro Alliance Engineering" is going to use 60-80 meter tall pilots with Ɵ1200 - Ɵ1500 for the foundation of the tower.

The plot is now owned by UniCredit Bulbank.

Lets see what`s gonna happen...

Highest skyscraper in Bulgaria goes bankrupt: Presa daily

14 April 2012

FOCUS News Agency

Sofia. The project for the tallest building in Bulgaria – Evropa Tower – has collapsed even before construction actually began, Presa daily reports. The project was being developed by a German-Bulgarian consortium. However, the Sofia City Court pronounced the owner of the terrain bankrupt in March.

This happened after UniCredit Bulbank initiated a bankruptcy procedure, looking to recover the EUR 5.8 million loan it lent back in 2008. The credit should have been paid back until mid-2011 and, since this did not happen, UniCredit will try to get the money back by selling the mortgaged terrain.

Interestingly enough, the same German-Bulgarian consortium had also a project for the largest mall in Sofia.

The Evropa commercial and recreational centre should have been located right next to Evropa Tower. In order to implement this project, the consortium took a EUR 11.8 million loan from UniCredit Bulbank. As the loan has not been serviced up until now, the bank will acquire the terrain where the commercial centre was supposed to be located.
