The M1 north extension stations to the airport will be opened on April 2.

The south extension to Mladost 4 neighborhood will be launched May 8.

Very exciting times in Sofia public transport!

They just opened the segment of line M1 towards Sofia Airport. The northern segment of line M1 has 4 stations and is 5 km long. With this line M1 now has 20 stations, the system has 31 stations overall.
The next 3 stations towards Mladost district will open on 8 May this year.

Metro in Sofia is very beautiful, even more beautiful than the new stations of Moscow. Does the Russian factories in the tender for the supply of new trains? It will be interesting to see the "Rusich" with a through passage and a display controller. In Moscow, two trains with a through passage tested with passengers. With the friendship from Russia.

If Russian manifacturers can offer machines that meet the requirements then they could participate in the tender. They have experience in winning tenders for the Sofia underground.

Anyway, the new stations are already in exploitation.

Another ordinary spring day at Vrazhdebna airport. This station is exactly 5 meters away from the passenger terminal of the airport.

Finally!! These are very good news! Metro to the aiport avoid more scams to the tourists by the bus company and its employees .

Twice in Sofia, and twice cheeted by the employees of the bus company. The second time the bus driver blocked me the doors when I wanted to ask him a question, he didn´t let me leave the bus, and the supervisor asked me directly to pay the fine knowing that I was asking about the tickets and price, as inside the terminal the newsagent didn´t want to sell me the ticket.

Congratulations for this new opening!!

That ticket machine at Sofia Airport station is the first that allows Visa/MC payments. Hope that more will be installed.

The metro goes only to the one of two terminals right? Are there any bus shuttle that provide conections between the terminals?

Yes - both shuttles and regular city busses that go from Terminal 1 to 2 and then to the city center

Do trains go from the airport through Obelya and then to James Bourchier, thus completing lines 1 and 2 in a one-seat ride?

Well done Sofia! Greetings from Budapest.
Glad that your local authorities are on the same page with the people and have delivered something major. We've been waiting for a direct airport link for a while but it's not even in the planning stages.
Looking forward to the commencement of building M3 hopefully this year.

Well done!!! This are the nicest metro stations that I've ever seen!!

I'm from Argentina, and I moved to Sofía a month ago, and this is very helpful!

And this probably will be in several years, but someone knows when its planned to start the construction of line 3?

The construction of line 3 should start in the end of this year with the central part and should be finish 2018, the other parts need to be complete in 2020 i think.
