it is in Nagapattinam-Velankanni road.. this road starts exactly near nagai port and leads till kodiakarai.
arul it was not the floods, the construction was started in 2003 itself, the 2004 tsunami made a big damage on the construction. later they got more funds and constructed fully. People told some boats were thrown right above this bridge during tsunami.

I don think its mettur dam, the TNSTC-villupuram bus should give some clue abt the place i suppose.. Is it some where in kancheepuram or cuddalore dist.( its a wild guess)

It is Mokkumbu - Uppper Anaicut..

yeah. There are similarities, like the wide river with copious water and lamp posts, but I could spot the difference on the pillars between the two pics. I choose the first life line; phone a friend. Please call my friend Mr.Anniyan....

This one is lower anaicut(Annaikkarai), built in 1902.

Actaully there is two similar structures within a short distance (few hundred meters). I dont know if both are across Kollidam or one is across other distributary river (manjalaru?)

Someone from delta region can tell us..anybody here?

Tiruchengode Arthanareeswarar temple?
if it is then the specialty is lord shiva has lend his half body to lord shakthi...

Yes it is.. you are right..
its Arthanareeswara Temple in tiruchengode, were Siva and parvathi as a single idol. Which is unique of its kind.
