I have read on local newspaper that NG mayor Brulc has held a press meeting in Gorizia, both to officially introduce QLandia in Italy, and to present the future development of NG.
I wonder if anyone has more details. from what I've read, huuuuge stuff! EDA center, Majske Poljane, bigger QLandia, Obi commercial centre, new roundabouts, other houses somewhere and another road bypass of NG???? they said north-south direction, but sounds stupid, you already have one? just finished, bypass of Solkan...

I think he meant this for the northern bypass (Kromberk Bypass) although it's like east. This is the only one proposed atm, to my knowledge.
![]() ![]() Majske poljane (right behind the old Transalpina station) ![]() ![]() ![]() detail of tower A construction site ![]() Eda center ![]() construction site ![]() as for the houses, there is some exclusively rich neigbourhood planned omewhere east of Rožna dolina (Valdifiori ) and on Bonetovšče-Fajdigovšče, on a hill overlooking NG there will also be a lit fountain in the middle of Qlandia roundabout as an entrance to the city, the new city park and skate park near Qlandia ![]() ![]() the new ER for the hospital in Šempeter ![]() ![]() new neigbourhood under Kostanjevica hill ![]() plus some other smaller appartment blocks, amongst them the recently completed ones near the future Majske poljane ![]() House Zvezda ![]() image hosted on flickr ![]() and the apartment building next to it ![]()

Those colors on the last apartment block remind me of 70s wallpaper.

wow, I love these replies of yours
![]() thanks for posting all those pics! 1) I still don't get the Kromberk Bypass... what traffic direction is meant to help? you know, the Solkan one was build to make it quicker to go from Isonzo/Soca/Sontig valley to Sempeter and Vipava valley, without passing thru city centre. and this? 2) ooooh first time I see visuals for Eda center. I must say, I'm a little disappointed. I like tall buildings, but this one doesn't look very cool as shape. anyway, we'll see. 3) Majske Poljane visuals look very exciting and futuristic. expecially those "twisted" blocks! 4) I hope you won't build too many houses in green areas, I think the most beautiful treasure of our city will always be the nature all around and getting inside the streets.

glad to be of assistance =)
1) well kromberk bypass would mainly be used for "rescuing" Kromberk from traffic, or to divide the cars that go/come from Solkan or Šempeter, to lessen the congestion. Plus it'll be used for the future industrial zone Kromberk. 2) I agree.. the 1st render for it was better, hope at least, there will be some more glass 3) anything would look better there as the current wasteland (u know, too close to the capitalist Italians during the cold war ) 4) yeah i hope that too, but no need to worry too much, at least, about the green areas in Nova Gorica as we have a decree that allows a new building only if the investor provides, if possible, parking under ground and a substantial amount of green around the building, as weill be the case with Eda center as well |

on the italian side we have a very strict "Piano Regolatore" (urban development plan), maybe too strict. I understand and fully approve, defending every little tree or forest. but... we must also not build on grass fields???? because that's "special environment"? lol this is what prevents Montesanto northern piece to grow.

lol well we have such people here as well, but they don't make a big fuss about it...
Btw, went by piazza Vittoria the other day, about 1/4 is finished or so? What about Via Rastello? Do they plan on replacing that horrid asphalt? And about that "ascensore al castello di Gorizia", any news?

Yeah, the NG green areas are so precious that only a Burj Dubai can do it.
Joke #2.

piazza Grande (Travnik for slovenians and piazza Vittoria for fascists
) is more than 1/4 finished! I would say about half! it will be opened by NYE I think.via Rastello will soon be part of the plan of improvement of historic streets. they will place little stone blocks, very artistic, with lights from the ground to the facades of buildings. same thing with close-by via delle Monache, and other centre streets such as via Mazzini (close to townhall) and most important, via Teatro (or via Garibaldi). then they will improve also the look of piazza s.Antonio, in front of Hotel Entourage, and riva Castello (the road going up to castle). that's it, if I am right. temporary roundabouts of p.le Medaglie d'Oro (arrival of Erjavceva/S.Gabriele) and p.le Divisione Mantova (entry of city from Isonzo bridge) will be soon made "permanent". then, someday, they'll place roundabouts between via Alviano (university of Trieste) and RoznaDolina border point; and in the wide crossroad in front of train station.

I think Gorizia's chinatown is more about via Carducci! the old "HerrenGasse" or "Gosposka ulica". now "kitajska ulica"?

oh is that the street from that "somethingdeutsch" palace forward?
not good with Italian street names, even less with the old count names (i know there's a "gastronomia cinese" on the other side of the road from the palace)
