really interesting the way the glass ellipse intersects with the main block. i assume its a projecting canopy on the lower levels and an atrium on the upper ones?

Not sure of how the inside will look in the atrium tbh. Maybe it is a secret!

Saw them putting one of the huge pane's of glass into posistion earlier today - delicate or what! Looking quite smart now though - the building. Also good work being made on Luas line through IFSC which is really good. Delighted to see the new line taking shape.

Also noticed they are putting some sort of reflective really shiney cladding on the front croncrete sections.

According to the pleanala website a decision is due on the 150m hotel at the end of the month. I hope this gets the go ahead, even if they chop a few floors off, if only to break the monotony down there. I think a decision is also due soon on the Gormley sculpture.

Yeah, I'd like to see it go ahead too. I think it's context is quite good and it would compliment the conference centre quite well, and that it in turn would be complimented by the calatrava bridge. Not too sure if I'd like to see it go below 25stories though, think it'd look far too stumpy at anything under that.
At least if given the go ahead it is more likely to get built than any residential, commercial or retail development in the current climate.

Theres no way this would turn into HH no 2 - a 5 star hotel running the place and actual build quality. This is similar enough to beetham in Manchester, I prefer this one though, its fits better into its surroundings and the cladding is nicer. Hope it goes ahead too, even just for some variety

Whats the story with spencer dock as a whole? Is construction still ongoing on the entire scheme?

Yep it's all still ongoing. Treasury Holdings are not letting up. They are starting an 800 million euro shopping center in the Ballymun area aswell in a couple of months and Montevetro is well under construction. They have many more projects in the pipeline aswell so they don't seem all that intimidated by the current climate.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I don't think any decision was made at the end of jan. I checked out the website and the only news was about dunne's tower being rejected. So, I get the impression it's still on the cards, but have no idea when a decision is due!
