Whoever designed this should stand in a dark corner and face the wall for a few hours...

It wouldn't look that bad at all, but I'd prefer some smaller stone cladded tower fitting the central station. Something postmodern like Messeturm or even historicising like Main Plaza would be awesome.

It won't be build like that anyway. This proposed design is old as the hills, circulating for felt like ages.

only a fraction of the DB employees moves into the silver tower. (two-thousand something employees out of over 10,000 or something like that). DB is concentrating all employees in two or three buildings - this tower is supposed to be one of them. let's just hope, this hideous design won't see the light of day.

i like that design, although the old campanileproposal (with one more backstep) would be better. imho the general design of the tower is a fine addition to the centrailrailwaystation.

I read an article on n-tv the other day about hundreds of railway bridges being over a hundred years old. Perhaps DB has more important things to spend money on than towers.

I would not mind if the Deutsche Bahn builds no high-rise, but fills the vacant offices in other buildings. That would certainly be the favorable variant.

But if they want to build a skyscraper in Frankfurt already, then please a real.

Competition Online published some new pictures and renderings from the competition for the redevelopment of the train station's forecourt + new tower.
