Awesome photos! You caught alot of great areas. What was your take on the city as a whole?
I don't mean for you to even compare it to NYC or anything. Just in general.

Thanks, not my photos however. I stated the photographer on the bottom of each post.

I was urging to open a Baltimore thread, since I was in the Baltimore mood. A thread where we can collect and post images of the city, it's main attraction and neighborhoods, ect. I'm interested with Baltimore, like other cities in the north eastern (and portions of the mid west) region being somewhat similar to each other and yet we each have our own character. The city varies per neighborhood, it appears quite dense also and again it has it's own character. In my opinion.

Feel free to contribute to the gallery

Very cool photos, StormShadow. Thanks for posting. Looking at those photos of Fells Point and Federal Hill, it really is a testament to Baltimore's character. These are some of the wealthier areas of the city, where homes routinely sell for a half million or more, and the areas still look grungy and gritty. One of the forumers has a quote as their signature that says something along the lines of "Baltimore is a seedy old port city, reformable only to a negligible degree." (I paraphrased that) I love that quote and a lot of these photos really brought it home. Thanks again for posting.

In the pic above on Howard Street, with the Ottobar on the corner, there is a boarded up building across the street from it. I drive by it every day and was wondering if anyone knows what the building is and what they are doing to it. I believe its on the corner of Howard and 26th.

Thanks!

Edit: I just realized that there is a picture of that building itself just above the picture I referenced.

that building is a 19th century tin can factory called "the census building" because it was some kind temporary headquarters/ offices during either the 1990 or 2000 census (i think 2000). it is currently undergoing renovations and is supposed to open as apartments aimed at teachers, etc

The boarded up red/brown brick building in Charles Village ? It's a nice structure, here in NYC it would be converted into a loft/apts for artist and the likes. It's good to know they have plans for that particular structure.

The 'American Brewery' is a beautiful classic structure. Any plans for it ?
