If allowed to go for it Melbourne.

Only one venue would need to be constructed and maybe an upgrade of the MCG.

It's would be the cheapest games ever and the best on track.

YES, It's th SPORTS capital of the WORLD!

As a member of IOC, I would prefer to share the olympics with many countries! For this reason they awarded the games to Rio and not to Chicago /USA, a country, which hosted eight olympic games in history!

Years ago just a few countries and cities were able to host the games, today many countries and cities would be great hosts for the olympic games.

May be Toronto will be Canada's next host for SOG, but they have to wait another 20-30 years!
You've got a nice job! You're probably right about Canada having to wait 20-30 years. Toronto can content itself with the 2015 Pan Ams for now. Technically, they're in Hamilton, but it will give the region experience with large scale international multi-sport competition.

I know the IOC view it as important for the host nation to be competitive athletically. Honestly, Canada has some work to do to when it comes to summer sports. We've proven that we can compete and be very successful athletically when we make a concerted effort. The medal total in Vancouver is testament to that. There's no reason to believe we can't duplicate that success in the summer Olympics as well.

2028, 2032?

And you're comparing that to what, exactly? Canada &/or Australia?

Hmmm, let's see, 2 nations with a small population of about 55 million, *combined*, to that of the United States' over 300 Million & that also has a phenomenal sporting tradition? In comparison to those nations, I'd say yeah, it was okay. And besides, Los Angeles wasn't 'awarded' the 1984 Games. The IOC gave it to them because nobody else wanted them.

Munich or bust. (going on the presumption that South Korea will get 2018) If for some reason they don't go for it then I would like to see Sweden host. I think they are likely the nation with the best winter games legacy who has yet to host.

Population is not the only criteria, but it's one of the 'main' criterias. If China wants to bid, & the IOC wants to obliged them again, then why not? Yeah, China does have the population & a big Olympic sporting tradition, especially in the Summer Olympics, a huge growing economy & are a big global political player as well.

But why should a much smaller player like Australia be getting it on a regular basis, when there's other places still waiting for their first Games? Even that article that you posted about the Australian Olympic Committee realizes that. So why all the huff.

For a nation of only 22 million & not much political clout in comparion to other Western nations, Australia has had more than their fair share of the Olympic pie. Two hostings in 44 years for such a small nation ain't to shabby at all.

Geo try telling Matthew Lowry that lol. Australia's next Games will prob be in the 2060-70s or beyond.

Countries I wish to see making bids are Argentina, South Africa, Poland, Hungary, India, Czech Republic and Turkey to name a few.

I think we've all told matthew that. But trying to talk to matthew, as we all here know now, is like talking to a 5 year old.
